Code Name: "Gunny" Gung-Ho File Name: LaFitte, Ettienne R. Branch: Marines
Rank: Gunnery Sergeant SN: MC 564-88-390 Primary Specialty: DRP. Secondary Specialty: Jungle Warfare Training Instructor Sgt. LaFitte was born into a large back-swamp Cajun family. Half their yearly income came from hunting during alligator season. Enlisted in the Marines at 17 and graduated top of his class from boot camp at Paris Island. Graduated: Airborne School, Reconnaissance School, and Marine Ordnance School. Qualified Expert: All NATO infantry small arms and most Warsaw Pact infantry weapons, XM-76 Grenade Launcher. "Marines are not typically viewed as highly intelligent or flexible to changing protocol. They are trained to do the impossible without questioning the possibilities. So in a way, all Marines are crazy. But not LaFitte. He has top notch situational awareness and is highly adaptable to rapidly changing scenarios. The only thing crazy about Gunny is that he has hunted reptiles in excess of 14’ and 1000 lbs. Makes his current job seem sane by comparison.” Gen. Clayton M. Abernathy GIJOE Commander Recipe: Chest, and Arms - 4 Pack Retaliation RB v21 Hands, Waist, and Legs - Battle Kata RB v23 Head - Ultimate RB v24 I've seen very similar (and often times better) Gung-Ho's, but I stumbled on this formula by accident back in 2015. I ordered a loose "Battle Kata" Roadblock v23, but he came with v24's "Ultimate" Roadblock head. I got lucky that his eye paint was in pretty good shape but his eyebrows were missing. So I added dark ones to match his facial hair. When I got the idea to turn his gotee beard into a horseshoe 'stache with stubble, I was very careful not to totally remove it. This way it could look like he'd missed a day or two of shaving around the mustache. The wrist armor was a hack to get around the terrible fused hand on v21 RB, and the terribly painted v23 RB forearms. It's the wrist armor for ROC Heavy Duty on the right arm and an upper boot of that Heavy Duty on the left arm. The gun was an old Joe mold that I think was based on this Stoner 63: https://www.morphyauctions.com/james...rg/53234a3.jpg I moved the magazine underneath (which I think was possible on the 63), replaced the barrel with some other barrel tip, and added the under grenade launcher. My goal was to make it look like a larger 12 gauge semi-auto magazine fed shotgun. Here's an example:https://i0.wp.com/www.usa-gun-shop.c...?w=1000&ssl=1I I imagine Gung-Ho had this gun custom made: 12 gauge, 8 round magazines, 1 in chamber (he carries a couple of back up mags, and the extra 18 rounds of pure hell). I covered the extra sheaths on the vest with fodder pouches. I added shotgun shells to the left thigh using an extra ammo belt hasbro sent with every machine gun, and I added the grenades from 25th Gung-Ho on the right thigh. Used the v23 RB shoulder pockets on his lower legs. Included his pet boa, Tiny. Feedback and questions welcome, thanks
