When Predator came out in 1987 I was too young to see it, but it is still one of my favourite films of the 80s. I always wanted figures of the characters and hoped the Club would put out a convention set where you could swap the parts around to make them. That never happened so I decide to make my own set using MTF parts.
Most of the characters in the film didn't have much gear on their legs but I decided to fill all the mounting ports with items that I felt were appropriate for the character. That didn't bother me as long as the figure was still recognisable as the character. I decided to use Spec Ops camo bodies not because it particularly looked liked the camo in the film but because it is always plentiful so I knew it wouldn't go out of stock before I could finish the project. A little info on each to follow

"Gonna have me some fun"
They look great. Hiya announced like two years ago on Toyark that they were looking at making some of the team. But nothing since then.

These came out amazing. I love seeing Predator customs.
Even back then I pictured Predator as a G.I. Joe Movie with the sci-fi element. We have Duke, Stalker, Roadblock, Recondo, Spirit, Tunnel Rat and Grand Slam.

Thanks, Billy is my favourite character, which is why him and Dutch may get 2 figure made with different looks. Although I might wait until after the Vietnam kickstarter to see if better parts become available. Quote:

It really was like one of the first live action GI Joe movies. Not wishing to sound pedantic but I assume you mean Short Fuze rather than Grand Slam (if you are talking about Hawkins)? With the glasses he was always the GI Joe character I matched him to (although not the figure). Poncho for me was always the hardest to place when trying to put together the team from the early figures. |
