Hello all, first post. I've probably lurked on the customs board for inspiration and joy since 2006. I just never got around to taking photos and posting my work. But I've got extra time on my hands lately, so here goes. On a side note I've been in northeast China this whole time and have been on some level of quarantine since early Feb., so hang in there everybody...
On to the custom. I really played around with the backstory on Rock 'n Roll and came up with this guy. So instead of an Army guy hailing from Cali, mine is a half Caucasian/half Pacific Islander who joined the Navy. Still a huge heavy machine gunner, who loves surfing. There's more to his story involving being a bit of an outcast until he saved another kid from drowning in a surfing accident. Thus earning admiration, respect, and his traditional tattoo. Code Name: Kraken File Name: McConnel, Craig S. Branch: Navy Rank: Chief Petty Officer SN: NA 989-09-1452 Primary Specialty: DEVGRU Secondary Specialty: PT Instructor Chief McConnel’s father was a missionary and his mother from American Samoa. At 16 years old he was chosen by the elders of the tribe to receive his traditional tattoo. It stretches from his lower right leg, up his backside, around to the left side of his back, up over his shoulder, down his left biceps and triceps, and across his chest, covering his heart. It took a total of 3 months to finish and recover from the tattoo application. It stands as a testament to his resilience and fortitude. McConnel is familiar with all NATO and Warsaw Pact light and heavy machine guns. Graduated: Advanced Infantry Training (Top of Class). Special Training: Covert Ops School. “McConnel possesses a strong sense of loyalty to his teammates and is sincerely concerned about their well-being. A man of honor and integrity who can be counted on to hold the line." Gen. Clayton M. Abernathy GIJOE Commander I just do a lot of kit bashing. I hate to paint, but I really focus on paint matching parts and retaining figure movement. Recipe: Head Thor Dark World Arms Jurassic figure Body/Legs 50th Leatherneck Vest Jurassic fig with bits of BBI and collar of Retaliation Firefly. Holster and Armor are JoyToy and bottom of pants from Retaliation trooper. S.A.W. has added scope and changed bullets to match those on the vest. Rock 'n Roll was my first figure in '82 so seemed best to start with him.

Thanks for the kind words and warm welcome!
As for the Movie comment, HM, if there was a good Jason Mamoa head to work with, I might have went that route. I know he was Aquaman (never saw either movie) but I don't know if they did a 1:18 fig. Though if I used a Mamoa head, I probably wouldn't think of him as being Craig McConnel. Then Kraken and Rock 'n Roll would be separate characters, which would also be cool.
