Any chance you could do a tutorial or a youtube video demo on how you make these fantastic creations? I am working on a project that is simular to what you are doing but with movie versions Transformers and Joes. I would love to get some insight on how do you go about getting the bot parts and figureing out where to cut the vehicle to make the transformation. Thanks

This is not an easy task to build robots. I recommend lots of thinking, it takes me a week of thinking before I cut, and even then I still cut things I shouldnt have.
i usually start with the vehicle and then hunt down robot parts that I think should match the proportion of the vehicle. Sometimes this takes two robots( one for legs and one for arms). Getting the limbs to fit under the shell is one thing, getting the limbs attached to something and under the shell is something alltogehter. I would recommend building from a Vamp or Hiss tank as a learning project, lots of room in a hiss and the vamp has connector pins making it easier to re-assemle. When I built this bad boy I actually built him in vehicle mode for two days, on the third I found out what he looked like as a robot. I recommend building it as a robot first then figure out the vehicle mode, its easier that way. |

Thank you Dr. Vile
What I was thinking of doing is to take an existing TF, and copy the engineering onto the larger vehicle. As for the bot parts, I am using existing casted pieces or other onhand kibble to get the job done. You are an insperation and a defender of the 1:18th scale Transformer. I salute you. Very Nice custom. Wish I had one, Hell I will trade my Steel Crusher w/o a driver for a Stinger w/o the driver.
