Haha, neon didn’t kill GI JOE, it was the wave of 93/94 guys which just had one new paint app or so from their last release that killed it. The Battlecorps guys who were all new were great, it was the releases like Beachhead & Mutt where they were the same figures we had with just a different color vest or accessory that sat on the pegs.
Haha, how dare they!? I have it on good authority that Hondo preferred his magenta suit and muscle car! I’ll assume those guys didn’t like his European Sea adventure suit either! COPS is a weird one for me because it seems like something I would have liked but I only casually knew as I got older. That must have been on opposite of something else that I really liked so I just never saw the cartoon. The opening theme song definitely would have hooked me so I must have never had the show on. Bionic 6 is funny because I first heard the name in the last year or two when my buddy was trying to finish his collection. Then one day I saw them in your thread and was like, “dude, some guy on Hisstank made all of your weird metal guys!” That’s when I found out what the baseball guy I had growing up was. I thought he was just a weird KO gi joe made of metal. Figured he came from the dollar store or something. Haha. Definitely put MASK above those other ones. Then you had Ghostbusters which I remember being top tier to me growing up. I was all about them for a while. guess the movies adds to their popularity though. Then there were those few others that we talked about before like Sky Commanders & Air Raiders which were in that lower tier. I'll give you Hondo may have liked the Chevy over the Truck, but no way on the other one. It would be a fun project to create some type of "ranking" system and then put the 80s cartoons into different tiers. That would be a YouTube channel I would watch and I'm sure there probably already is one as there seems to be one for everything. Hoping to have some new customs finished up by the weekend. The current few are requiring more work than I had originally anticipated. Especially for a couple of characters that like 5 people will remember. LOL.

Little kid me was really disappointed with some of those 1994 guys. Being a kid who didn’t just get everything, I remember seeing them in the store and thinking “I have this already!” Really bummed me out to pass on so many Joe’s after Battlecorps was a line where I finally had most of the guys and a lot of vehicles. Plus that line gave me a lot of my first versions of characters like Beachhead & Mindbender so i expected more of the same from the next wave.
Haha, That magenta suit was likely made out of fire retardant materials, his brown slacks definitely weren’t! I’m sure someone has their rankings made in video form and I’m sure I 100% don’t agree! Haha. So much great stuff in the 80’s that outside of Joe being number one, there’s an argument for everything else coming after. Hahaha, as someone who drops customs that only probably five people remember or ever saw before on the regular, I’m excited to see your next drops!

The cartoon only lasted 5 episodes, but I think the figures are recognizable. It's one of those weird ones where the toys hit the market before the cartoon so some of the toy designs don't perfectly match the cartoon color wise and a few minor details. So, that just gives me a little leeway in my colors that I choose to use as far as shade goes. Like one of them his suit is green...toy is brighter green...cartoon was a really dark green....I went with a green I thought looked good, but doesn't actually match either. Thanks! I actually thought Dod Ear will like this right after I had taken it. As you can see Superman is right there in front.

When I bought the dvd before you started the figures, I didn’t realize it was only five episodes! I would have busted it open and knocked out the Series already had I known. ———— That’s such a great picture! So cool that you have so many of the classic 80’s characters done. Only ever see things like this in art work, never in figure form so just so awesome!

Haha, I know, but I never get to talk neon Joes at length so I take whatever opportunities I get!

I want to get back into the huge group shots, but huge being like 10 to 12 from various groups.
