Me too. I need to get back to doing more shots with the Joes. They were the reason I picked this scale and I've moved away from even including them in group shots since they aren't customs.
Thanks. I'm trying to decide if I want to do another version of Chuck too. Either the white and blue outfit or the blue jeans and orange vest look. Super Ninja and that hair. I'm not sure what they were thinking but he was always memorable to me b/c of the purple outfit and hair. Not sure what got into me with wanting to sculpt the symbol and everything. Lol. Your comic stuff has made me want to include more action shots alongside Joes. As I said above they were what made me choose this scale both vintage and modern era and yet I've stopped using them in my pictures. It’s so much fun to take those types of pics in general but definitely great when you can start to mix properties. Looking forward to getting some other stuff done outside of Joe’s so I can start to combine different lines some more too. The Resident Evil pics were really fun to take so keep trying to think of other fun crossovers now. —————— I said it before but your Centurians are always a treat to see. The creativeness it took to recreate all of the accessories is next level. Love seeing the gear all laid out for the originals & your customs like that. Really shows off how dedicated you were to going all in on these. Then I still don’t even know how you did the villains, haha, just so impressive with the blockier side of their sculpts. You really did an unbelievable job on this group. Then it’s just so cool to see all of the originals with all of their gear. Probably the first time I ever really seen them with everything.

Your Centurions look amazing! Very faithful to the original figures.

Ooh, both good choices! The red outfit and white one give off a similar feel so I’d go with the jeans & vest look. That would give you the iconic Karate Kommando look and one that would fit in great as a Chuck with your Joe’s and A Team figures.

I hadn't taken a picture where the gear was really shown off but I thought it would make a cool pic. Well that long break I took from making customs from July till the very end of October was because of Doc Terror and Hacker. I couldn't figure out how to make them. The parts stumped me so after a few weeks of trial and error I just put all of my custom stuff up. One day it hit me how to make them and the project was back on. So I really appreciate you pointing them out bc they were tough to make. Thanks I really appreciate that!

Your centurions are BOSS, 80’s guy! I agree with all the others, as both Silverhawks and Centurions are up there among the greats in your work, but it’s hard to compare, since they are all so different . The past and present pictures really are a nice way to highlight all the sculpting and problem solving you had to do to make them, especially with those baddies!

This is a picture I've wanted to take for a long time. I believe it perfectly demonstrates the 80s project. I chose the figures in the first picture because I had each of them as a kid and loved them (these are not my originals) and the second picture puts them all in the same scale. There is a certain charm to the 80s figures being different sizes and having different looks though.

Man - love the whole concept behind those pics - your personal ‘Best of the Best.’ I bet most of us are putting together our own list after seeing these.
(Batman though? They’re called ‘super’ heroes and they have ‘super’ powers - not ‘Bat’ powers. Superman is still the first and the best) |

Thanks I really appreciate that! Always great to hit a breakthrough after being stalled. Happens to me from time to time where it just blows up momentum, glad you figured them out because it’s led to us seeing more awesome stuff! Quote:

(Batman though? They’re called ‘super’ heroes and they have ‘super’ powers - not ‘Bat’ powers. Superman is still the first and the best) The most irritating thing is I couldn't locate my vintage Stratos to put in the picture so I could use the custom one. I wanted to use Lion-O too since he was my favorite but his size was actually close to the Ace so I went with Panthro to really show the differences in scale. Quote:
Haha, yeah, I did that with the Annihilator and was like, ”I need more guys with a ton of gear so I can do this more often!” Looks so awesome with the Centurians because they all came with unique parts. Reminds me of the old toy ads where they’d sprawl out the figure and accessories.
Always great to hit a breakthrough after being stalled. Happens to me from time to time where it just blows up momentum, glad you figured them out because it’s led to us seeing more awesome stuff! Those are bad ass pictures! Bad thing is it makes me realize how badly I want customs of some of those guys! Haha. Totally agree, hard to beat the originals due to nostalgia and years of those being our go-to’s.....but then totally different ballgame seeing them all in the same scale together. It is funny how some stuff back in the day you just dealt with the scaling issues to do crossover missions anyway. I know since I didn’t have a Joe Sarge when I was younger, my WWF like 4-5” Sarge would go on Joe missions and wipe the floor with Cobra. Haha.
