Bushwacker was a member of the Australian Army for 10 years, with 4 of them being in the 2nd RAR battalion. He was chosen by General Hawk for the Joe team due to his skill in the field, and his knack for making homemade lasers.
When He first joined the Joe team he found a symbol on a piece of paper in the barracks which he thought was cool. So he got a tattoo of the symbol, only to find out later it was the sign of the Arashikage ninja clan, which he did not really care anyway once he found out. This pissed Snake Eyes off, and he has never liked him since. His job as a Joe is to serve as a member of special Joe recon teams assisting with his specially made MA65 Laser precision rifle (MA65 LPR). He was born in Melbourne Australia, where he tinkered around with lasers and flashlights most of his life, until he turned 18 when he promptly joined the Australian armed forces. EDIT: Added a bit to the story (the Snake Eyes/tattoo bit)/ and a new photo Started out by trying to make a Steel Brigade trooper, but ended up with this guy when I realized I did not have the right paint. I need to find a better paint to use, as the stuff I painted him and my other figures with likes to flake off. Nice. Could serve as a heavy weapons operator who only uses laser weapons.

I like Testors Model Masters acrylic the best, but Citadel paints run a close second. Vallejo paints aren’t bad...but they tend to smear a bit too much for my taste.

While I haven't much experience customizing figures, I do have a lot with painting in general. Bar none, the best adhesion you're going to get is going to be with standard spray paint, provided you prep your surface. You don't have to use it as a spray either, I personally drain my cans when I want to do detail work (watch a tutorial- if you don't do this correctly, it can be hazardous). Following up with a clearcoat in whatever sheen you want is also a good way to protect the finish.

If you look under the customs general discussion forum, there is a thread of How To links.
This is a good explanation of the paints used for action figures: Jin's Basic Custom Figure Painting Guide
