I wanted to use a small amount of red as a link to Black Widows logo (there is actually a small logo on her arm but you can't see it in the picture), and I thought the red star would tie her in to the Oktober Guard. I also thought the belt buckle had a bit of the look of the Black Widow logo on it's side. I did also consider painting her belt gold as another nod to Black Widow, but thought it would be too bold for a spy, and might make her look like a member of MARS. |

The new Oktober Guard spy will blend nicely with her new team/surroundings. After all, she's top notch at what she does!
You did strike a balance with her being something in between superhero and military like and those paint accents are superb, so kudos to you for that! I honestly like your version better |

Another figure that I started ages ago and then lost interest in, but when I was working on adding Black Widow to the Oktober Guard ranks I decided to finish her.
The Indiana Jones character Irina Spalko's back story interested me and I thought she would make a good addition to the Oktober Guard: 'Irina Spalko served in the Soviet Army as a military scientist and a senior officer up to the rank of Colonel. She was also a KGB agent, a psychic, as well as a very skilled fencer and combatant during the Cold War. She obtained a doctorate and joined the Soviet secret police. As part of the KGB's Science and Technology Directorate, she participated in numerous experiments in ESP, telepathy and telekinesis - potentialities that the Soviet Union generally took more seriously than the West. She was awarded the Order of Lenin, the highest decoration in the Soviet Union, three times for outstanding services rendered to the State.' Her hair in the film always looked unreal to me so I decided to make it a wig so she could go full Professor X when using her psychic abilities. I had to sculpt the wig (which I think maybe looks less like Irina Spalko's hair and more like Armadillo's helmet!), it may not be perfect but I am quite proud that I was able to sculpt a removable wig. |

Not a figure I planned to do (although I may now add it to the list), but I was chatting to someone recently and they were saying they wanted to make Steel Brigade and did I have any ideas. I had some time on my hands (as getting Marauder parts over here is difficult at the moment) so I looked at what I could throw together with spare parts I have.
This is in no way finished but I thought I would throw it out there to see if people think it has any potential (and what changes you would suggest), or if you think it would be better to start again with the dark tan trooper legs and light blue trooper torso. The accessories on the vest and belt were already glued on there from previous discarded builds and not necessarily the best ones I would choose. |

I really like that unique take on SB - comes off really well.
I’ve always seen SB is a greenshirt type fodder trooper - so it’s different so see the civilian type dress shirt and contract ops pants, but it works well and looks good. |

That was an awesome idea to make her helmet hair! Haha, turned out looking really cool and is a fun feature to have on a custom. I’ve been trying to work that bald head into a custom for a while now and only just finally figured out someone I’d like to use it for. Gonna be a complicated build though so that head will likely be in my bin a while longer.
Love the Steel Brigade too! Reminds me of the 2000’s version where it was a team of three named SB Troopers. That build, the accessories and the coloring works perfectly for him. Gives you a nice alternative to having a regular Hasbro one.
