Yeah shame Hasbro doesn’t keep to a green, very true!
AF, damn man, awesome, its the Tash Brigade! :P You did these Marauder bodies such justice and brilliant work on the 14 decal for Bazooka dude, glad u managed it! Yeah I do prefer that version of Roadblock, dang, if you saw these at the next toy fair you’d think they were official Modern GI Joe for those that don’t know about Marauders, of course even if Hasbro tried to make these of this quality they wouldn’t beat these ones, again awesome work and cant wait for more! |

My pre-order items arrived super fast. The good thing with the delay is that I was able to fully plan what I wanted to do with them and get the other parts I needed so when they arrived I could turn them around immediately.
First up is Bazooka. His absence was sticking out like a sore thumb from the rest of my collection. I initially had him built with a black t-shirt as I did not want to try painting the t-shirt and getting rub at the shoulders, but I had not previously shown that as that is not how he looked originally. Now he has a proper red top. Unfortunately Bad Mother Tattoos don't do decals for Bazooka so I had a go at making some myself, they are not perfect but I am happy with the result. Not sure what happened with the bottom of the 1 in the photo, but it doesn't show up as bad in hand or on display.

You really did have ideas for your preorder!
Spirit.......just gonna warn you now, you are gonna see a very similar version in my thread at some point because I’m borrowing everything about this! Haha. After I did the v2 and v3’s, I bought a cast of the Club Marauders head to figure out a v1 down the road and you just dropped one that is perfect! Awesome job on him, probably my favorite v1 modern build Spirit. Really like how the loin cloth looks and I think it’s iconic to the character. Do like the switch up from his original gear, cool to see him with a more modern gun and the satchel. Think the jacket works for Keel Haul, another who you nailed. I hide my Club one on the back of my shelf since I like the upper build but hate the legs. Your version would be right up front with Hawk though! Always like the Recondo tweaks and you may have me revisit my v2 Roadblock. Love how mine looks with the armored legs & rolled sleeves but your more accurate version looks great too! Maybe I’ll paint mine into a Classified version and mimic your v2 build down the road. You do a great job molding all these mustaches and facial hair! Thanks for the tips for the decals! Definitely something, along with sculpting, that I want to start trying so I appreciate the write up. Yeah, I wanted to do a preorder for the new stuff but at that point I had such a backlog of Marauder parts that I didn’t want to add more without a plan. I’ve been burning through stuff now since I’ve been getting so many customs done that now I can finally start adding useful parts again. The club Keel Haul is another figure that I had to sell as I decided I could not live with it (and did not want to modify it) so it is good to have one in my collection (even though I don't really remember him as a kid). If you love your v2 Roadblock you should keep him like that, for me this hobby is all about what makes you happy, not what other people think it should look like. Always happy to help. I am glad I took the plunge and tried my own decals as it gives me more options (although I will still be using Bad Mother Tattoos). Quote:
You've done a great job on all of them!! It's quite evident that you had a plan during the pre-orders...I'm a huge fun of Recondo, and yes this is exactly the way those shirts should be used, in my opinion.
Spirit looks awesome and so much better than other versions I've seen before. Now I wish I was part of the pre-order at the time. Thank you for entertaining us with this new round of MTF customs!! Hopefully the pre-order items will be available on their site soon (I know I have more that I want to buy!) Quote:
Thanks, I have always liked Recondo as a character, he came with a cool kayak over here (they called it a canoe but it was a kayak). I have made 2 versions of him, this one and one using ww2 parts, which I keep tweaking. One day I will land on my ultimate build for him. Quote:
Man, I just got my pre-order stuff yesterday, and barely had time to look through the stuff, and here you are posting already completed, amazing figure builds! You aren't kidding that you already had them planned, but to knock them out so fast is really something! Kudos on all! I am especially liking your Recondo, Bazooka and Keelhaul figures; gotta love the sculpted staches!
-Todd Shakka85 I am not very good at sculpting, it amazes me the intricate work that some people do with greenstuff. a small sausage shape as the start of a moustache is about the extent of my skills. Quote:

That is praise indeed, more to follow shortly. Quote:
I posted 5, ok which one didn't you like, haha. Thanks, the blue shirt torso was actually the item I bought most of as I could see the most uses for it (I bought 3, there is one still to work on) |

Another tweak to one of my previously shown figures, this time Duke with the new tan shirt. As part of the tweaks I have added some binoculars (but not sure I am happy with how I have done that)
Edit, I have also just noticed that the rank insignia is upside down (and I also think the wrong rank for him, not really familiar with US insignia). I was just trying it out to see what it would look like there, didn't really like it, and didn't realise it was still there when I took the photos (perhaps I shouldn't be rushing these out!) When I saw the pre-order items I thought I might have a go at mainframe with a more cartoon colour scheme. I had planned to use the grey shirt but decided it was too dark so used the t-shirt instead. Not really vintage accurate but I quite like it as a more modern take on him.

Interrogator was not really a figure that I planned on doing, but as I had all my figure parts laid out in front of me as I was working on the pre-order items the idea just sort of jumped out at me. I had received the head quite a while back as a freebie in one of my cast items orders (Raginspoon I think) which I painted up and then tossed in my fodder pile and forgot about. The jetpack I added as a nod to the Battle Copter that the figure originally came with, not really appropriate for the character, ok I didn't really think this figure through. The chest armour I have planned for another figure so this creation may not survive, but as a figure that literally took me minutes to throw together without any planning I am quite happy with it.

That shirt works really well for Duke. I like mainframe too.

Solid new recruits!
There are a number of gems in there I really like. I think your Keel-Haul and Mainframe are front runners for me.
