Okay, that show looks awesome! Haha. Watched the intro and it reminds me of the Bill Bixby Hulk show so I?ll definitely check some episodes out! Thanks for the recommendation! Definitely right up my alley. Quote:

Total surprise on this one & oooohhhh so much fun! Never seen this figure before so it was fun to see the comparison & your stellar paint work makes him look like a totally different toy (kinda like a Beast-Man vs. Moss-Man with flocking) I was like "oh wow he even remembered to take a shot before he started!" ... Then I noticed the brown foot LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dio shots are a riot! EWOKS! Than a whole fight scene! Anyway love Big Foot stuff and this is a smash in the thread!
Haha, I don?t think I knew that Beast Man & Moss Man were the same figure until I was a little older. Probably when I started seeing Moss Man figures whose flocking was rubbing off, then I could tell that he was green Beast Man. Lmfao! What do you want from me!? At least I somewhat remembered a ?before? pic this time! Haha. I painted the foot, was about to hit the other foot and stopped COLD in my tracks! Usually I wouldn?t have thought about it until all of the light brown was painted and then went, I guess I missed the BEFORE window. So progress for me! Hahaha, much appreciated! Super fun pics to take and it made me laugh to drop him in there with my ewoks. Quote:
Thanks! Haha, when you have the chance to make a Big Foot custom AND it fills a hole in your collection, you sort of just have to go with it! Quote:

Haha, after doing the custom and setting my pair up together, I need to load up those Six Million Dollar Man episodes because it?s been so long since I?ve seen them. Maybe toss in some Bionic Woman episodes as well. Two absolute classic shows! ?????? Haha, as always, thanks to everyone for the comments & stories! They are always much appreciated and fun to read! This was definitely on the goofier side of the spectrum so it was amusing to see people enjoying it. I thought maybe with the one figure Fresh Monkey had in the pipeline that maybe they would do their own Big Foot down the line but I just couldn?t wait! Haha.

That's quite the transformation bro! I'm loving the action scene pics as always, unique to this thread. Before and after on Bigfoot is a bonus of course but really after seeing your beautiful paint job I kind of forgot everything about the original picture.
And yeah nobody saw this coming without a doubt...the element of surprise and that's exactly why I'm always excited to see what you have in store for us! That straight repaint of ROC Ice Viper is stellar! Didn't know there was a repaint/unreleased version of him but hey that's Hisstankclopedia for you. Really digging the shade of red you decided to go with and the depth you gave to the fur. Really nice custom all around! Keep them coming!! |

Just looking at some of your earlier work again, It’s been a while for me. But man, you do a really great job at using the right parts to capture the look of the original characters. These are so good man!

Bonus pic! I forgot to gather my doll homages together for a quick shot when I posted Bigfoot originally so here we go! Quite a few customs that I?d like to add to this group and of course more of the awesome homages that Fresh Monkey has coming down the road.
Still need to take some fun pics of Captain Action as well because I LOVE what Zica did with that figure.: Quote:

Haha, well next up, hopefully tomorrow is one of my tried & true....a brightly painted 90?s Joe! Can?t wait to finish the pics! So excited because I LOVE how he came out. Appreciate it! The Ice Viper was a figure that I was looking forward to painting as soon as I picked it up for a nice price at the toy show. Glad that I stumbled across that unreleased one since it does really pop on my shelf. Then I liked that I didn?t totally just go with the unreleased paint job. Plus it?s always fun to take some snow pics! Always appreciate you stopping in! Thanks! Haha, all I had during those early days were MTF parts so with so many holes in my modern collection at the time, it was so easy to start just throwing stuff together to make large batches of Joes! Now as I wind down on my fodder and / or needed parts, definitely looking forward to the big Vietnam drop coming. So many Joes in that style that I have on my to-do list.

The next pair were fun ones for me to make because I haven?t gotten to use Dime Novel Legend parts all that much and doing the work for one custom landed me two customs that I really wanted in my collection.
Another Joe that was heavily used in the cartoon that I did not have the original figure of growing up was Wild Bill, constant theme of my childhood, just a ton of characters who escaped me until the 90?s when Hasbro finally started making new versions of them. Hasbro?s new take on Wild Bill did not disappoint! This time they pushed the cowboy theme even farther by not just giving him a cool hat but now he had a full western getup! So this was one that I was going to need in my modern collection once the parts to make him were out there. So enter the Dime Novel Legend Calvary Officer! Really awesome figure that I absolutely loved when it was announced, then I got him in hand and he was even more awesome than I had hoped! But looking at him more.....he could really use the yellow break in his sleeves....and the brighter blue.....okay, well I bought two of him with the plan to customize one so we just need to get this guy painted! So first things first, the lack of rolled up sleeves meant that I needed to grab the green stuff and sculpt him some rolled sleeves so I could properly do the layered shirt look so we did that. Then i added the bright blue paint for the torso, upper sleeves & hat. Next up was the white for the gloves and as a base coat for the parts that would need to be yellow, then I followed that up with my bright yellow to really make him pop! Finally I hit the buttons on his shirt with a copper color and the transformation from toned down Dime Novel colors to the vibrant 90?s colors was complete! Wild Bill v2 Borrowing Zorro?s horse Tornado for some trail riding: And rounding up some varmint!

So Wild Bill v2 was actually the second of the pair that I put together, the one that I fully painted to start this project was the third version of Wild Bill.
So he uses the steps I mentioned in the previous post for the upper body & hat. Then I also took unpainted pants from another Dime Novel figure that I had and painted those pants white because I plan on using the extra Calvary Officer pants for another custom. I also painted the belt, holster, sheath & boots a nice cinnamon brown to complete the v3 look. So now I have both of the 90’s Wild Bill’s in my modern collection and that makes me super happy. I only had the v2 growing up, need to rebuy him because I lost parts to my childhood one, but with my modern builds, I think I’m actually enjoying the v3 look more. Wild Bill v3 All of my Wild Bill?s together (forgot to pull TF Wild Bill from my display) and swapping the pants for the v2 / v3 and the stock DNL Calvary Officer to show off both looks but to also allow myself to keep one Calvary Officer unaltered. A good old fashion standoff:

For me, Wild bill is a top 5 favorite you’ve done .
You built it right, painted it right, touched it up right. True customizing. Well done my friend
