Haha, no problem! As soon as you said you had fond memories of the Smasher, I figured you?d enjoy those pics because that was my first ever interaction with it. Never really saw it or messed without outside of pics on YoJoe until that day.

Shadow Ninjas were figures that I completely missed growing up. Over the years I was able to pick up two of them, so when the Boss Fight clear body idea popped into my head to try as Shadow Ninjas, I knew I had to do it. After having a lot of fun putting my previous Storm Shadow, Bushido and Slice together, I decided to expand the group with some new characters when Boss Fight sent me some more clear blanks in the one holiday bundle.
So this idea popped into my head as soon as I received a clear female body, we had Ninja Force Scarlett......might as well have a Shadow Ninja as well so I got to work. Fairly easy build since I like to keep as much of the clear plastic visible as I can while still making a figure that pops so I started with the clear orange blank and then grabbed the long haired head from that box and the gold shoulder armor and chest piece from an accessory pack. Since I snapped her arm out of the package, I decided to use that as an excuse to sculpt her an arm wrap and I grabbed some Marauder shin guards to give her that armored look. Since there wasn?t a piece that replicated the leotard look well, I decided to use gold paint paired with the chest armor to attain that look. Finally I added the fire red hair to make this distinctly Scarlett. Added some forest green accents so she had the reverse coloring of the Ninja Force figure and a gold sword and she was good to go! Shadow Ninja Scarlett: With the other main versions of Scarlett: And my other Shadow Ninjas: Learning the Shadow Ninja secret from Bushido:

Okay I had never even heard of shadow ninja before, but that is an awesome concept and great execution on your part.
The bossfight blank worked perfectly along with the parts you chose to complete Scarlet. I must have missed the other two the first time around. Both of them look great too.

DUDE! You are blowing me away! INSPIRED! What a great original take on what a Shadow Ninja Scarlett would look like! I love it! She looks to hawt to handle lol! Your Shadow Ninjas were always among my favorites of your lengthy fig-ography, and this just super pluses them up again! The Dio-shots gave me all the story I needed! Cheers!

Had NO idea what I was gonna do with the initial clear figure I ordered until I tried for this group so glad they are giving me a fun new look on my shelves, especially since I have a decent amount of the clears now. Definitely a fun gimmick so really cool having them in my modern collection. Thanks! Haha, can?t say I can argue with that, that Zarana is still one of my favorite things I?ve done. If I were to go through all 160 some customs I?ve posted, hard to imagine I?d find enough that would have me knock her out of the top 5, really do love how she came out. Quote:

A lot of fun to take these shots because I?ve been ripping through the 90?s Double Dragon cartoon and they remind me a lot of how I use the Shadow Ninjas in my pics. Such an underrated cartoon! Hopefully boss fight does some more clear bodies in the future because I?d love to add more colors to this group. Appreciate it! Thanks! Haha, yeah, the Shadow Ninjas seem to get overlooked or forgotten due to all of the awesome Ninja Force, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat guys we got around the same period. Must have been ninja fatigue which caused us all to pass on them back in the day. I would have love that gimmick as a kid though!

I love the first wave of these you did, and I love this one, too. Really inventive use of those blanks and sharp execution and kit. Very cool

I know you love the ninja stuff so glad I can pump some out every so often. Can?t let you have all the Joe Ninja fun! Haha. ???? The second part of this building session was the other original Shadow Ninja added to my group. Had a number of female clear blanks so I sat there wondering who else would fit into the group, Joe?s were easy since they had some no brainers but Cobra was a little more difficult......then I thought, Zartan became a Ninja, why not Zarana?! So while looking at my colors, I figured Zarana?s pink accents would pop really well against the blue clear blank and it came with the head I already loved on my DiC Zarana so that?s what I started with. For this one I grabbed the Boss Fight chest armor that most reminded me of something Zarana would wear as armor, the female lower body cloth piece to add some color around the legs, then added a sculpted sloth bit around her leg to give her one more break in the blue. I hit the main distinctive areas with a bright pink to give her that Zarana feel, then finished it off by adding some black accents to give some contrast. Really loving this one, probably in my top 3 of my Shadow Ninjas with Slice and Storm Shadow. Shadow Ninja Zarana With my other Shadows Ninjas: Then showing newly minted Shadow Ninja Scarlett the training she already learned from her sensei, Shadow Ninja Slice.
