Hit, yeah, think I’ll get a StarDuster from BM at some point, cool character and yeah silly prices for the original mail in ones!
Man o man, lovin’ Shockwave from DEF.... to be fair with you, never knew much about DEF, wasn’t collecting Joes then, was more into (the shame of it) Toy-Biz Marvel lines and DC’s Kenner lol. DEF does feel like C.O.P.S a bit, still I gotta read a few comic books of the team to totally get them of course, which I will haha, anyways totally digging your Shockwave, perfect matching colors, accessories, figure just pops right at you! Didn’t know JoyToy did blanks, cool. Awesome work bud and loving all the photos, love that stuff! Last edited by LEEE777; 05-27-2021 at 01:31 PM.. |

Man, that Shockwave is awesome! The paint job's terrific (as usual), and the JoyToy body looks great!
Y'know, I'm already throwing more money than I should at Marauders, and now you're getting me all tempted to grab some JoyToy stuff as well, dammit! |

Yeah, DEF was sort of a blink & you miss them team because half of them came out one year, then you got a few more under the Battle Corps tag the following. Really fun group though, another where I didn’t have original Mutt, Cutter or Muskrat so these were my main versions of that crew. Love how brightening up these parts make them look so glad I rolled the dice on making him with the JoyToy parts. Haha, think those were the years I had some of the Toybiz X-Men as well, still have mine in a tote waiting to be displayed so no shade thrown by me on picking those over some neon Joe’s. Loved that group of 90’s x men as much as I loved some of those Joe’s. Quote:
Haha, sorry! Don’t feel too bad because I bought these while sitting on a stack of Marauder stuff I just haven’t been motivated enough to use. Just needed something different while we wait to see what Vietnam looks like. Quote:
Thanks, as always! ——— Thanks again for the comments, everyone! Had a lot of fun putting Shockwave together, working on one of his teammates as we speak so hopefully I’ll have him together soon. Got a fun one done over the long weekend so really excited to get some pics and show him off. Another who I’ve wanted in the modern collection for a long time.

Big one for me because it’s of a character that I loved growing up, who I’ve met several times over the years and who I never made an “official” custom of yet. So in looking for something to work on over Memorial Day weekend, the Sarge seemed like a great option.
So never actually had a Sarge Joe figure growing up. Slowly picked up Triple T Sarge, Warthog Sarge & Slaughter’s Marauders Sarge over the years, still need a mail order, but growing up.....I had none of them. I used to use my Hasbro WWF figure who was slightly oversized with Joes, but that was my Sarge. Haha. I made do and I loved it because I was a huge fan of him in the cartoon, in the movie, in the WWF and in the WWF WrestleFest arcade game. It wasn’t a Joe but it was a Sarge so I made it work. So been spinning my wheels on how to make a Sarge for a while because the parts to do him are just harder for me to come by. Thought about a Marauder t-shirt torso Sarge for a while but then I started looking at JoyToy and figured with a cast head.....I think I could make Warthog Sarge! So JoyToy shirtless blank as the base. The head is a painted cast that I picked up years ago. So touched up that head with a skin tone mix and cleaned up the hat, glasses and mustache. Full body paint job on the figure itself: skin tone mix, tan mix for the pants and accents. Lucked out having good colors straight from the bottle for the brown, green & red accents so those were a bit easier. Grabbed the shin guards & knee pads from JoyToy to mimic his high boots, a Marauder 86 vest and finished it off with a strap of bullets, a knife & pouch so he was geared up similar to the original figure. Just love this one! Couldn’t be happier with how it came out, just works as my Warthog Sarge. Glad to finally fill this spot in my modern collection. Warthog Sgt. Slaughter Sgt. Slaughter v3 With my Warthog which I still can’t find the launcher for.....it’s around here somewhere. A larger shot that I couldn’t resist taking with the casted belt from Avac’s Lab. With my 25th Sarge: With the Renegades: And the vintage Renegades taking care of business:
