The weathering on Iceberg is great and the CC is a wonderful homage to the original.

The Iceberg build is really inventive, love what you did with the HAT and colors, really cool (pun intended lol) & CC is among the BEST CC customs I have ever seen, the perfect paint really makes him a winner!

Thanks! I appreciate it! Thanks, yeah, remember staring at that Commander in Kay-Bee all the time but never had money to get him. So cool to finally have in my collection. Quote:
Hit & Run, WOW!
Only took me a good hour i think to get through and look at everything dude, awesome work on all of it! Not one custom figure that isn’t beautiful, love them all, even the Battle Corps, you made Battle Corps cool again! Loving the Destro’s, especially the axe version one, Wet-Suit in his black gear looks mean, great stuff, Headhunters, Action Man, Mercer, lovin’ how you did him up! All them Ninja’s, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Hit & Run of course, epic custom! ;) International Action Force guys, etc etc etc, so much goodness! I’d be writing you a book if I commented on every single custom here, truly epic work and appreciate all the time you have spent on these, lovin’ me some Tiger Force too, excellent Beachead especially, Headhunter Stormtrooper as well is pretty epic! All your different Vipers, its endless here, truly fantastic work, looking forward to see even more of it, that is if you haven’t run out of ideas ha ha, so much here the mind boggles, excellent stuff man, don’t have the words to give it all justice! ;) Forgot to say about Super Trooper, always one of my favorite GI Joe/Action Force, love what you did with him, fantastic! Did a Super Trooper myself from a spare Marauder figure didn’t know what to do with, camo one, but yours, love the cocktail of the build to it, great work! Loving the index page pics on page one too, very unique and useful! Lee So just a ton of my all time favorites in here, some real labors of love and some that became new favorites as I worked on my versions or took pictures. Awesome to hear that you enjoyed the deep dive through the thread and glad you also like the index! Haha, I’m always looking at that thing to revisit some of my older customs, photoshoots or comments people left. Quote:

Appreciate that! Always loved this Cobra Commander design and color scheme so once I realized I wouldn’t get an official version, I knew I was gonna have to make my own! One of my favorites to look at on the shelf.

Hit & Run buddy, again awesome work dude, yeah I was late to the party when it came to the collectors club FSS stuff, was on pause for a good few years around that period, wish I got them then, the prices are a joke now lol, I blame Hasbo for making Chap-Mei type quality with their Joes for a long time before that, that kinda stopped me collecting anymore for a good time and me being deep into Marvel & DC (mainly) 6 inch figures didn’t help, yeah stopped that really now though, missed buying vehicles and 6 inch figures take up too much room haha!
Anyways, keep up the great work and looking forward to what comes up next man! Lee. |

Thanks, I appreciate it! Have some new parts coming so hoping that gets me motivated making a custom or two again. Been on the sideline for a bit now.
I was all in on the Club stuff, for better or worse. Good that I avoided the crazy prices, bad because the quality isn’t always the greatest. Haha. I appreciate most of the guys they got us though and even with the high prices they are pulling, I find it hard to part with them. Only a few that I felt the need to outright make a better version of so that’s always nice. Worked out well paired with Marauder coming out because it made it a lot easier to tweak and improve some of the Club offerings. Oh, 6” is a rabbit hole! I got sucked in a bit with Marvel & Star Wars. Very much trying to almost completely avoid it with Joe. So far just have the one Cobra Commander.

Cool, I’m waiting on new parts too, Marauder Gun Runners is well behind lately with orders, but its worth the wait, hopefully they’ll sort that out anyways!
Yeah, I feel ya, with me I got the paints (well most of ‘em I need), but lost my decent favorite model paint brush so waiting on a set thats stopped me pretty much finishing off some customs with a paint job, its a nightmare using a crappy brush, that so far I have had to use for a few touch ups and stuff lol. Yup, even though I had the pause period I doubt I would of bought mega loads of club or convention stuff even then as I’m over the Atlantic Ocean it gets pretty pricey on shipping and that thing called friggin’ customs, tell you it sucks! I would of got all the Action Force, Tiger Force, Python Patrol and other certain FSS figures etc though. Yeah, Marauders is a godsend, makes things a lot easier for us Joe customisers that’s for sure! I know that rabbit hole lol, damn if Classifieds came out when I was collecting that scale I would of lost it, though again, wouldn’t of liked the way Hasbro has handled the Classified line that’s for sure, made it a complete nightmare for them collectors! Was going to buy the first figure that came out from Hasbro online but found out they don’t accept international so gave up, that was Snake Eyes of course, shame wanted him. Never ever got into the 6 inch Black Series SW, though I do collect the odd 3:75 Star Wars figures here and there as that scale was what got me started in action figures to begin with, Star Wars and Action Force (GI Joe). I’m tempted to get a couple Classifieds to do a couple of customs, maybe lol. Well hope you get motivated when you get your stuff Hit! Lee. Last edited by LEEE777; 04-13-2021 at 05:42 AM.. |

I need to order some Marauder parts but have been a little reluctant to do so because I just have so much stuff in my bins still. Have some ideas though so at some point I’ll need to just get an order in.
Haha, yeah, never fun when your go-to paints, brushes or parts are discontinued. Part of the game, I guess. Good thing is it seems like more and more quality options are popping up so it’s not too hard to get a good recommendation from someone on here about a product. Didn’t realize your location was Ireland. Visited on a trip once, beautiful there, really enjoyed it and have to get back at some point. Yeah, seems so tough for you over on that side of the world to get figures or product. Awesome that Joe still extends across the globe though even if it’s harder to pick up now. Yeah, Club I was pretty much all in until the end when I started getting Marauder parts. Once that happened I started being a little more selective with what they were selling because I started making my own. Classified I’ve done well sticking with just my one Cobra Commander. My buddy is all in so that helps me get to see cool pictures of the figures and sometimes he’ll bring them over so I’ll get to check them out that way too. It’s a nightmare with how much he has to hunt for the figures though so I would have been out quickly on the line. Once Toys R Us went under “hunting” at retail was no longer fun for me. And thanks, got a little motivation with the new parts so custom post incoming!

It’s been a while since I posted something new, not because of a lack of desire, just had so much trouble getting moving on using the “same parts.” Good thing is that finally got me to make the jump to order a few JoyToy figures to see how they were and I’m happy to say that while they are different to work with than the Marauder, BF or Hasbro parts I typically use, really enjoyed the fresh builds and it got me off the bench!
So my first JoyToy custom is of a figure that I’ve been wanting to get done for a while now, fairly simple build but with a lack of easily available shirtless torsos I’ve just been waiting and waiting. Since JoyToy looked to have a pretty good body for him, I went with their parts and got started on Wild Card! This is a figure that I never knew about until recently when I pulled Major Altitude’s helmet out of a bin.....but it was the wrong color. A little research and I found out it wasn’t originally Major Altitude’s helmet! Not sure how much I would have liked Wild Card growing up had I known about him. Love Major Altitude so it’s possible that I would have liked this figure. Never actually saw him in person so will be cool to look for once I go back to toy shows. As a custom though, once I got the parts together and painted, really loved the look. Fairly simple one using a JoyToy blank. Just their body & belt, an altered vest & painted head from Marauder and a machete from Boss Fight. Head and body didn’t match so full flesh tone mix there, mix for the color on his pants, sculpted mustache and some light brown paint for that and his hair, then just some additional coloring for the details to break up all the red / maroon and green. Vest was fun because I still have a ton of these from the original KS so felt good to mod one and get some use out of it. Then finished off the look by giving him a Marauder cell phone, a Boss Fight machete and a vintage helmet. Really happy with the final result. Wild Card With his head & helmet mold mate who really needs to be cleaned up now since he was my first real painted custom: And dropping him into the action: Laughing at the original unpainted build, not the most complicated custom to do but light and day with the paint added:

Great job n the Wild Card build man! He is one I would also like to do someday as I have him from my childhood collection, and I really like how yours turned out! Very cool leg choice and the paint adds to the magic!
