Man, the colors on Rapid Fire really pop and as you said, a bit of added paint on MTF figures goes a long way so I may have to try that on a few pale looking skin so as to bring them back to life! You're correct though, this particular set of pants needs absolutely no touch ups
I love all the scenes you add to your customs, it's a big bonus so please keep it up!! Appreciate that! I love doing the scenes & battles so always great to hear that people enjoy them! Quote:
....hahaha, I CANNOT WAIT! I already have Queen songs in my head just thinking about it! Will do! Still have quite a list left to finish off what I want with my ARAH collection! Quote:
And glad you’re enjoying the comics shots too! Haha. Had so much fun doing this batch. Thanks! Fun to be on a roll pumping them out again! Thanks for the comments, everyone, as always, much appreciated!

Very nice “not dollar bin” Dogfight, haha! Your story had me cracking up because I did the exact same thing with Armadillo when I was a kid. I remember seeing him at a yard sale and said there is no way that’s a GI Joe figure. Also very nice create writing to get yourself out of the jacket/mud fighter conundrum. Seeing your version makes me want to revisit my Dogfight custom. Dammit, I already had 28 customs in line, now I have to stop production, lol.

I'm sure you'll figure out a way to make Dogfight's jacket soon enough. But he looks god as is.

The problem with my mini-comic for Dogfight is now my head cannon has him as the Joe who is always having his stuff stolen. Haha. People stole his jacket & plane in my comic, I’m assuming he’s also the Joe who has his bagged lunch eaten by someone out of the PIT’s cafeteria fridge too. Sorry! Haha! The list of customs to do never seems to dwindle no matter how many you get done, the names on it just change. Checked out your Dogfight since it’s been a while since I saw him, really like what you did with him. The Han jacket piece works great on the Marauder build. That was a great low price idea for jacket pieces because they were giving that figure away. Quote:
Thanks!

Big thanks to Steel Brigade, AF80 and my brother (and possibly a few others) on this one. Definitely a custom that came together while being influenced by a few different awesome takes on the Big Ben build I’ve seen.
This is one that I’ve been kicking around doing for a while. Had the parts for a while, then had him built for a while but he kept getting pushed to the side for other customs. But yesterday I finally finished and sealed Big Ben v4. I loved the original Big Ben but he was my brother’s figure so it wasn’t until this version as an adult that I had my own Big Ben. Then later on I added the International Action Force one to my collection. Because I wanted this one to have a different look from the Club & my v2 versions, this one combines a few of my ideas with my brother’s and things kicked around with AF80’s in his thread and also in Steel Brigade’s. Both have awesome builds of Big Ben, SB’s ended up being a lot more of an inspiration than I originally thought so definitely check it out!: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5275141-post345.html So starting with some WW2 body parts, I left the pants unpainted since it would almost be criminal to paint over the epic off the shelf paint job Marauder did so I mainly focused on the torso and accessories. Full paint job on the jacket, straps & bag. Went a little darker with the jacket than the original but since the pants were also darker without paint....decided to keep the leather look that the paint gave me. Then added some green to the Russian hat and finished it out with a full head paint job. This head originally had brown hair since I ran out of black haired heads, so I painted the hair first, then decided to go all in and do the brows & a full coverage of the face. Another one I really love, a little (sometimes a lot, haha) of paint really unlocks these World War II figures, great as is but they really take to paint so I always love how the final version comes out when using them for a custom. Then I’m loving the faces even more than I did before once some paint is added. I’ll post this one first since it’s my preferred configuration for the build. The single bullet wrap gives more room for me to enjoy the jacket & web gear paint. Big Ben v4 The more toy accurate look: Then the bullet-less look: All of my Big Ben’s: And a quick battle.

Okay, I have to stop coming to this thread...you have so many great ideas and I just want to copy every one! I love your work! My jealousy is costing me a lot of money. The International Action Force Big Ben is the only member I haven’t done yet. I didn’t think I could crack the code but you made it look easy. And I definitely think those 2000’s O-ring guys are underrated. Good stuff, Kudos!

LMAO! Very much appreciative of the kind words because I feel the same way when I go through your thread. You were really the first person I noticed going all in on the brighter & mid nineties designs without trying to dull the colors any so your thread was a big reason i knew I had to start painting. I still need to make another v2 Budo because I toned mine down, then saw your BRIGHT version and I was like, “I need that!” Haha. So you started this!
Big Ben is so fun to make because there are so many options to go with, he was one where it was really important to me that I gave each a distinct look, didn’t just want repaints of the same build. Hope he helps you finish up your International Action Force! Such a great group to have together! Thanks, as always and I totally agree! I passed on the 2000’s Guys for the most part earlier but I love making customs of them. Some really underrated figures.

***SB does the slow clap!*** Kudos! That's the same version of Big Ben that I tackled w/a very similar build & I love what you did here w/added paint! Great way to differentiate from your prior version and overall an outstanding job!

Eek! I knew I was forgetting someone else that I commented around with on this version! Been so long since I messed with this guy that I knew he had to be fairly close to someone’s, just couldn’t remember if it was my brothers, yours, or AF80’s.

Congrats on getting your Big Ben v4 finished, it is always nice getting a long time WIP off the work bench. Nice use of the German harness rig which is a lot more vintage accurate than the British one I used.
