I see you used the E-4 rank for his cap. I’m thinking about seeing if BadMotherTattoos can come up with something more accurate. The badge, gold leafs and possibly the gold stripe.

Wow, thanks, that means a lot! Those Shadow Ninjas were so much fun to make because I got to really attack the pile of Boss Fight accessories that had been building up. They’re up there with the Mega Monsters are far as customs where the entire content of my parts bins were available to use. Love how they came out and look on the shelves, so cool to hear they’re big hits with everyone else too! Really hoping Boss Fight does some new clear figures for some of these upcoming lines, I would love to tackle some more of the group. Quote:
I was wondering if that was the correct one to use. I was going off pictures and it looked most accurate for what I had available, figured someone on here with more knowledge would be able to tell me though. Works for my shelf but definitely helpful knowledge to have for future builds. Thanks!

Thanks! Such a fun group to work on!
Got a little momentum going again so I have a few guys who are all close to being done. Some new techniques that hopefully work out well for me also. Appreciate it! I really love that Zandar so really cool to see people enjoy the odd direction I pushed him in. Really felt like I made him my own so it definitely gave me a new appreciation for Zandar.

This is one I was determined to make ever since my buddy showed me his Operation Flaming MOTH box set figures. Loved both versions of Shipwreck & Chuckles that came in that set so glad to knock out one, Chuckles I can hopefully figure out down the road.
Because of the cartoon, Shipwreck has always been a favorite of mine so feels good to get my second custom of everyone’s favorite Colonel done. This is also a fun custom because I more or less got two for the price of one because it’s easy to turn him from V10 back to V1. So easy build here using the new Marauder suit parts, just swapped in some rolled sleeves, threw on a vest and added some accessories. I especially liked how I was able to use the magazine pouch as a perch for Polly. Then I added the Hasbro hook and painted a custom head cast to complete the look. Seeing him next to the other versions, two additions that I’m gonna make at some point will be to add his tattoo and then rank to his shirt. Shipwreck v10 So funny seeing all of the different versions of Shipwreck over the years. Then a callback to one of my favorite episodes: Also have my first mini-series / crossover event starting in my comics thread for anyone interested. My Dino Hunter custom photos turned into a full fledged Dino Hunters / Jurassic Park crossover event. https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5349352

Man....so awesome. I stopped collecting Joes around 87/88 so I wasn't familiar with most of these designs. Thankfully you posted the vintage figures. You nailed them. Great job, great paint apps and just great customs overall.

Shipwreck came out great man. I wasn’t too familiar with the v10 MOTH version until now but it’s cool and I like you can swap it to v1.
Like many people with the marauder blue shirt release, I am also working on one. I just need the gear which should be here soon.

I was lucky because my brother started us out with Joes, then I took us until the original ARAH line ended in 94 so I was as familiar with the later year stuff as I was the most popular years of Joe. Then my buddy collects some of the 2000’s stuff so I’m constantly finding new figures that I never knew about. Then of course YoJoe deep dives, But same to you, love going through your 80’s threads because while I’m familiar with a lot of the 80’s lines, you constantly drop remakes of figures I never even saw before. The figure I’m about to post is my first custom with sculpting so I was actually going through your thread last night trying to see if there were any I could do now that I can sculpt some parts. Awesome, can’t wait to see how your Shipwreck comes out! I know it’s gonna be epic!

This is one that I always wanted to do because the 25th anniversary version is pretty painful to look at and everyone on here has some awesome Spirit customs. Since I already have great versions of the other main versions of Spirit, I knew it was time to get the original done.
This is one that started out with my brother’s suggestion of using a Dime Novel blank, then the rest came together from ideas I’ve seen others use and also a few things I experimented with myself. So this build is a little of everything. Casted head with sculpted braids, Dime novel body with a painted shirt, Marauder rolled sleeves and then accessories from Marauder & Boss Fight merged together to get the desired look. Spirit My Spirit Customs with my favorite of the official releases: Seeing this picture, Spirit might be tied with a few guys behind Duke as the figure with the second most customs made by me. Then just a larger version of the shot with him & Freedom. Also messed around with some shots to showcase his tracking skills a bit. Also because I never get to take pics of Doc.
