Windmill looks spot-on! You’ve captured the look and feel of the original quite nicely. But is he a lot bigger than Keelhaul (or is Keelhaul really small), or is that just the picture playing a trick on my perception of him? I don’t have either figure, so haven’t seen them in person... As always, a treat looking at your customs!

Thanks! Really love how he’s looking on the shelf. Tried to put him with the classic Joe pilots and that didn’t work out, haha, looks great with my 90’s customs though!

-Todd Shakka85 Keel-Haul was a Club special, “we have parts that would work great for this character but we’ll go with ten year old 25th parts instead! So Keel-Haul is comically short, I hide him in the back row of my shelf because the torso & up look great but the legs are terrible. I can’t make a Marauder build Battle Corps version soon enough, haha. Windmill fits in perfectly with Marauder & POC late era Joe builds. As always, thanks everyone for stopping in & commenting.

If you’re looking for an update to the club Keel-Haul legs, try swapping them with the modern Steel Brigade figure. The color is almost identical. Easiest upgrade ever and improves the figure a ton.

Next up are a group that I never had or even knew about growing up. I had quite a few members of Ninja Force when those came out and it was a sub line that I absolutely loved. Since Hasbro & the Club touched on most of them, I never really gave too much thought into making my own until I started to mess with the clear Boss Fight figures, once I had one of those in hand I decided to see if I could add some gear and make them viable Shadow Ninjas.
First is my favorite member of Ninja Force. This version of Storm Shadow has always been my favorite version of the character so doing the Shadow Ninja’s version was a no brainer for me. I absolutely loved the original NF figure, to the point where my original had to be retired because his o ring is holding on by a thread. Luckily I was able to get a new version of NF. I still haven’t come across the Shadow Ninja version so I’m happy to have him in my collection via a modern custom. Boss Fight clear blank with some various Marauder & BF gear painted to finish out the look. Shadow Ninja Storm Shadow Up next is a Ninja Force character that I did not have growing up for whatever reason. Bushido quickly became a favorite though once I had the Club modern update and the original NF & Shadow Ninja figures in hand. Same Boss Fight start as Storm Shadow but I used webgear that came from a Hasbro Joe, some BF gear and then finished the look with some cloth because I ran out of parts but wanted to break up the clear plastic more. Shadow Ninja Bushido Then finally I get to a character that I was always hoping the Club made for us. Because I wanted Orange Slice and Boss Fight had the clear orange blank, I used that as an opportunity to merge the two versions into one. Red Slice was a childhood favorite, it wasn’t until I was an adult checking out YoJoe that I found out Orange Slice & the Shadow Ninja versions existed, so I definitely needed one or both. This helps fill that void for me. This is by far my favorite of the three Shadow Ninja’s that I did. Another build similar to the others while using Temple Guardian Snake Eye’s mask and some cloth to finish out the look. Shadow Ninja Slice Then a group shot of my three Shadow Ninjas: Because the pictures for these customs went far beyond just the fight scene that I initially intended, I created a separate thread to cover my larger story ideas which kicks off with my Shadow Ninja’s story: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...=1#post5347690

These are pretty cool concept pieces. As much as I loved ninja Force, the shadow ninja subset wasn’t my thing.
This set is both cool as homages, but they could also stand alone as just being cool looking customs on their own. Also a great use of those translucent blanks, which look cool, but I’ve never found much use for them. Awesome job!
