Really interested to see how many of these guys they touch with the 6” line. Was surprised Alley Viper was on the initial list and would be awesome to see a new spin on Sci-Fi & Airtight. Love the original versions of them.

True, true. But I see the term "Neon 90s" used to refer to the last few years sometimes, and just thought it was odd. I also think you could argue that at least Airtight, Blowtorch, and *maybe* Sci-Fi having bright colors makes sense. Chuckles's shirt never looks that bright in pics, but I've never seen one in hand (my uncle's collection only went up to 86, and even then most of the older stuff didn't surviving too well). The Vipers...the POC AV is the definitive color scheme in my head lol. I give the HEAT a pass for his colors being less annoying than the shape of his helmet. And Secto? Lampreys are the naval vessel operators, silly!

It is interesting to think about though, why the older stuff gets a pass from some for similar offenses as the later stuff. Probably down to it just being rarer back then.

Yeah, that always made me laugh growing up that some of the goofier early year guys & cartoon episodes got a pass when some of the later year stuff I enjoyed seemed universally panned. Seems like the 90’s stuff is starting to get more respect these days than it did a few years back though. Always surprised when I post customs like Battle Corps Cobra Commander, Stalker & Shipwreck and people comment saying they’re their favorite versions of the character. Cool to hear because it always felt like a lot of people got out of Joe by 91/92 and missed some of these figures I always loved.

Up next is a character whose name I thought was dumb but whose figure I absolutely loved. The design, colors, I don’t know what it was but everything about the character just worked fro me growing up and it’s still the same for me today.

Another full Marauder build, learned quite a bit about painting neon since I did this guy so like my Deep Six, I may need to redo his neon yellow at some point to make everything pop a little more. I also started mixing paint since then so I can definitely get the respirator to match too. For now though, absolutely love this build and how he came out. So much fun having this guy on the shelf.

Haha, thanks! If I only knew then what I know now about neon paint he would have been a lot easier to do. When I posted my Eco Warriors, Rob asked how much neon paint I used and the answer was something like, “not that much.” For this guy though, haha, used a ton of my bottle.

Haha, the mid 90’s are forcing me to use yellow so much that I don’t even complain about it anymore. The white for Iceberg was so much more annoying than any of the recent yellows.

I am no fan of the Ice Cream Soldier, but that being said, you nailed the look with your MTF custom. I have to give you kudos for that! And yeah, that yellow paint... you must have a lot of patience!
