UPDATE NOW FOR SALE ON eBAY.
UPDATED (AGAIN) 04/10/2010 New Pics on Page 6: Went with the Warthog's yellow missles instead. Pics are a little clearer. It's now officially the Hiss II. UPDATE 08/29/09 NEW PICS ON PAGE 3 I gave it a 4 digit number on it's sides instead of the temporary 788, and then went over it with a bunch of gloss and dulcote so it doesn't look super super shiny on the sides and bottom (and show every single scratch it picked up while in storage for 4 years) Nice and satiny looking now and the decals aren't as shiny. Since my Wife is out of the house for a few more hours and I just cleaned and vaccumed the living room I couldn't help but arrange the whole convoy for a photo shoot. Yeah, I'm not really sure what to call this thing yet... I wanted to make this as fully functioning as possible with as little paint as possible. The only painting (so far) has been some Krylon Fusion Black to the headlights (and the tan spaces around them) and covering up a tan strip along the edge of the crew compartment that was showing through a tiny space between the bottom of the side doors and the main body. The parts are: Main Body, Tracks and Missles- GI Joe Night Rhino Grey Hatches, Antenna, Launchers and Gun- GI Joe Warthog Stickers- Cobrastickers Hiss, Fang and Cobra Symbol sheets This is probably the biggest LBC I've ever done. It was mostly just piecing the whole thing together and waiting on parts from evilbay. I need to get some more Hiss Number Sheets when they're back in stock. I want the 788 replaced with a 4 digit number instead. And I'll probably do the headlights in silver. Once that's done the whole thing is getting bathed in testors gloss and dull coat. I want it to have a satiny sheen to it, kind of like my Ferrets and Mongooses. It's way too shiny right now. I also need to hack up some 25th stands and glue some footpegs onto the back and sides. I've got some figures propped up in some of the pics. It just doesn't feel like a real GI Joe/Cobra toy unless it has lots of figures standing impossibly on the edges of every flat surface. I've only managed to fit 6 figures in the back compartment ONCE. And then I took them out when I painted the door frames... It's really hard to cram the 25th Cobra Soldiers in there since they have the big diaper crotch going on and can't sit correctly. S soon as I can figure out how to keep the Door Hinges and Hatch edges from scraping the paint off, I'm going to do a Crimson Guard one as well. So far my Ferrets and Hiss Tanks aren't wearing the paint off... So it may work ok, too... I'd Really Really Really like to do one in White for my Snow Serpents... That is one cool looking vehicle. I always feel the simpler less intricate designs are best. This one's a winner. Good job.

Thanks! I like that it looks like the real-life vehicle. Well, except for the giant missles. I love the Hiss and Armadillo tanks a lot, but it's nice to have something that looks a little more realistic for a change.

I think this is my answer to the void left by Cobra not having a GIANT Two Turreted Command Hiss like on the 2nd and 3rd season of the cartoon. I want to do a Joe APC in black also.
Then, if I can get a Mobile Command Center... Oh yes... Cobraaa! |

Nice job. I did the exact same thing before, but I left it as a Joe vehicle.
