Thanks BatesDragon. I still might make a Zap with this design someday. I hadn?t thought of Salvo. I just knew there were already too many figures with the likeness of the actor ?who didn?t know if he wanted to be GI Joe,? so I knew it couldnt be Channing Tatum. I?m not really that fond of Duke anyway. I?ve had the body ready for a long time waiting on the vest. I?ll have to think about Salvo.

Thanks. To be clear (and fair to those who printed the parts), I have no talent for resin printing, only the 3D work and a little FDM printing here and there, like the diorama items around Roadblock for example. Here is the 3D rendering:

I hadn't seen that concept art before, but it's a fun figure design, and you nailed the translation from concept to reality here. The color scheme feels appropriately PoC-ish. Excellent work on the 3D sculpting, too: which software did you use for the modeling?

Yeah the Massive Black art is cool! Thanks for noticing the POC-inspired color scheme. The black and white concept art pieces leave color up to the imagination, and I often feel challenged by it.

The sculpting journey has been even more of a blast than painting. My earliest designs were done in Tinkercad because it was so user friendly for me as a noob. Blender is my go to for most everything now.

That?s cool if it?s hard to recognize. I thought there were already enough action figures of the man who ?didn?t want to be? a GI Joe. True to tradition I borrowed a Resolute head - this one is v30 Resolute Duke with the hair, ears and jawline sanded down, scarred up a little extra for the hell of it and then re-painted.

I?ve tried hard to remember. The ridged hose was something from fodder, maybe Star Wars. I believe the long smooth one was heat shrink wrap over a nylon cord.

Thanks Steel Brigade! You know better than many do, but Hasbro left a lot unfinished in the POC line, including the cancelled figures and this art, so there is a lot of richness to mine from their unfinished business. Thanks again for reviewing those cancelled figures back in the day. It helped me decide to start making customs.
