Backblast is another figure that would have been easy for the club to do as a repaint but never did. So I’ve been waiting for MTF to release their contract ops t shirt torsos for awhile so I could do this. This figure may not be totally finished, because I may try to find a vintage missile launcher for him, and I would like him to have a “GO ARMY” decal on his shirt. I have zero experience with waterslide decals, however and don’t see a future need for them so it is something I may not bother getting into.
Head: 25th Mutt Body: Marauders Task Force Helmet: AVAC’s Lab cast

Very nice. I'm still trying to find a way to make a Backblast without any painting at all. Like how yours turned out.

There was no paint on this guy, which is why I waited for these parts to come out. I’ve had this head and helmet for awhile but didn’t want to paint a whole figure to get this look. The helmet was cast in that color and surprisingly matched the MTF green parts pretty well. I think you could probably get a mustached head from Marauders too. The only tricky part is the chest decal.

Nice job!
My Backblast helmet just arrived from AVAC today so I can do an MTF build myself. |

Thanks guys. This was so simple, I'm glad you like it.
And thanks for the helmet AVAC! I could have used a generic looking military helmet, but this piece is so nice, it fits the head perfectly, and it completes the figure with a little more uniqueness. I used one of your hats on a Steamroller figure I'm quite happy with too. Quote:
Everybody go buy AVAC's stuff and make some easy custom figures!

This looks great! Which MTF body/shade did you order? I need to whip one of these up.

The torso/arms are from the “contract ops” figure. It came with tan pants I used for another custom. The legs are the basic trooper figure in “field ops” green and black. The web store is currently out of these figures but hopefully they restock their older figures again soon. Some people have had trouble fitting the new t-shirt torsos to the older waists, but this one fit fine for me without any modifications.

My only experience with them are back when I was a kid making models... and they never worked well. I had Alyosha do the decal for my 2016 JoeCon Bulletman, and he used a spray sealer/laquer once the decal was adheared to the figure... that might've been my problem as a kid. So I have a few to do, like Backblast, the Fridge, a TARGAT and Outback, so I'll let you all know how that went.
