Here's a 6 Inch Destro figure I've been working on.
Based on a Movie Master Batman Begins Batman figure. Removed the cape and bits from the gauntlets. Front of Batman belt removed and flipped to better match Destro's belt. Sculpted the mask onto the original Batman head using epoxy sculpt. Arm rockets from airplane model kit. Arm grenades from Combat Heroes Destro. Dremel tool was used to sand the bat logo off the chest and to add grooves to allow for Destro's pimp collar to be attached using plastic weld. Collar is made from plasticard. Gun holster on his leg is from a Marvel Baron Zemo figure. Straps are plasticard with epoxy sculpt buckles. I've included a few WIP pics so you can get an idea what was done. Thanks for taking a look. More pics to come...

Update:
Working on a Joe card style display for Destro. The figure won't be attached to the card, which is why the explosion graphic is centered. The figure will act as the 3D version of the classic Destro art. All art & type done in photoshop. Pics of the display coming soon... Still need to work out what I'd like to do for the back. Stay tuned. Thanks for taking a look and for any comments you might like to share.

How very...successful!
Nice sculpting. Very resourceful translation of the Batman costume details into Destro's parts. A very good, far from obvious choice for a base. Even the bits that didn't require heavy modding do not pop out as belonging to Batman. You worked hard AND smart, and I've got to imagine the dark base figure keeps any joint chips pretty invisible. Backdrop is cool, I'm working on something so very similar, and I wasn't sure if anyone would "get it." You sure do though. Mine is laser etched into plastic, but lacks all the nifty details other than the main logo and explosion. |

Your figure is great looking but your card art WOW!!!!
I like how you did the filecard and the backing it looks so retro. How did u you this, also could you make other filecards for other characters as well? |

Card was built in photoshop. The explosion is a photoshop painting I did. The Joe style type is a font called Action Force (you can get it free at dafont.com). The rest of the text is mostly modified Helvetica. The Joe artwork on the back of the card is from the original catalog. The file card was also done in photoshop. The main body of text on the file card is called American Typewriter (pretty standard font). The final images were printed on glossy photo paper and mounted to card stock. I plan on using this card as the base for several other Joe customs I'm currently working on, including Cobra Commander (coming soon!).

Great looking work and use of the batman body. You definitely transformed this into Destro. Nice work!
