After my Lanard Corps Zartan custom kinda "flopped" I decided to do a custom RoC version. Trouble is, I didn't have a 25th one that I wanted to cannibalize for a hood so I decided to sculpt my own hood out of apoxie sculpt.
Body is Elite Viper mostly, with Viper Commando lower legs (liked the boots better). I trimmed the armor a little bit and trimmed in the belt and then super glued. Used the RoC Zartan hat-less head then went to work with apoxie sculpt. This took me about 3 tries to get it right with the sculpt and water to get the right "hood" consistency I wanted, about wafer thin and pliable like paper, then draped it around his head. Here's a WIP shot: I might reuse this technique if I decide to make some bedouins or something. I trimmed his elbows to improve his range of motion a little bit for his rifle holding, then painted him up. The masks are from the Corps custom from before. |

Note that the way I made the hood, he can still turn his head in all directions
and even look up and down (VERY limited), even though the hood itself has hardened rock-solid. I love this Walmart sale! (or is it a rollback?) I got my Ice Viper's snowpeedo and got the funky suction cup thing that came with PP Storm Shadow and Glued them together along with a popsicle stick and lego piece to make his Chameleon! Not painted yet, but it'll come.. |

What are you seeing that's not smooth?
I might see it in the edges of the hood, but I consider that rough "cut lines" in the cloth when Zartan made his hood (Hey, he's a dreadnok, not a seamstress) so I can live with it. I did smooth out a lot of the piece transition lines that I wanted smoothed out... some I left, as they looked alright as "wrinkle effect" lines to me. I really wanted the effect of a more dynamic hood than what I've seen Hasbro come out with. |

Sorry, didn't mean to bite your head off. Guess I was over sensitive (set my expectations too high) on this one and over-reacted, Peace brother. Thanks for the comments.

I like the rough hood. I'm also digging his neanderthal disguise.

I really like the overall sculpt. latex gloves will solve the finger prints and a little alcohol never hurts.
