This guy has been in the works for a long time. It?s one of those deals where I just can?t find a way for this guy to look like the original. Look, the main reason I don?t do Dreadnoks is cuz I don?t have time to look through every toy line to find the right wristband or the right non-military boot or the perfect sash or - you get the idea. And I certainly don’t normally have the time for soft-goods. Anyhoo, this guy has gone through SO many iterations and I think I?ve finally gotten l him to the point where, if you squint, from one hundred feet away, at night?you might just mistake the guy I made for Zanzibar.
I never had Zanzibar when I was a kid, but I definitely think he?s underrated (like Crystal Ball). Once the bare torsos come out, I will update this guy further, but, for now, this is my version of: ZANZIBAR (V1):

I dig it man! I love that parts combo and his colors are striking! Had him growing up & thought he was instantly recognizable!

In the “Instantly Obsolete” category, we have Shipwreck. I started this guy back when Avacs still had the Dixie Cup Hat and the Marauder’s website still had bearded “Ranger”heads. Now, the bearded heads are gone, Avacs is closed and we now have a ready-made Shipwreck in the Viet Nam lineup. Oh well, I thought I would take a couple pictures and strip him for parts. Here is my soon-to-be-dismantled Shipwreck
SHIPWRECK (V1):1985 …and just for the heck of it, I took a pic of the guy I’m working on now…Alpine V2. He’s a bit of a pain. Gotta color match the chestnut color of the BFS buck legs to the more “walnut” color of the MTF dark skin tone. Cut up some BFS wristbands and will paint them to attempt some hiking boots. Good thing the original character wore knee pads. That will cover up my shoddy attempt at parts-mixing at the knees ALPINE V2 WIP
