Thanks, everyone, for your kind words of support.
I only have one figure tonight. I’ve always had a passing interest in this figure. Despite the weird camo, he’s a bit simpler than a lot of other Joes…and I think that’s what I like about him. I’ve always felt his weed-whacker looked a little…underpowered and weak. I wanted to beef it up a tad. I glued 4 MTF chainsaw attachments to a steady cam gun and popped some kind of third party Lego chainsaw piece to the barrel. The new MTF vests that they had at JoeFest don’t have any back-holes in them, so, for now, I’ve opted to leave his backpack off. Here we go with… PATHFINDER (V1): 1990

Just dropping a WIP tonight. Don’t have the funds right now to finish any more Joerauders.
First of all…lemme show you a gold MTF Trooper. Doesn’t that look good? I know that the “Royal-Ops” train has sailed, We’re never gonna get gold. I think it’s a missed opportunity…what with Eagle Force and everything. I hear the Eagle Force “Classic” Kickstarter is starting soon. I think Marauders could have under-cut that whole thing if they had gone with a gold trooper at some point. Look, I’m not a businessman. I don’t know anything about producing action figures. I just know what I like. I just think “Gold, for lack of a better term…is GOOD”. GOLD TROOPER MOCK-UP Anyway, that’s not really what I came to post about. I have a WIP of Barricade V2. Granted, this poor guy is a mess right now. He’s a real Franken-figure. Under that gold, he’s got orange legs, a purple waist, one yellow boot. The vest is tan, the armor panels and pockets are every conceivable color. The red torso is borrowed from a Crimson Guard Immortal figure I completed a couple weeks ago. The head is an old Dollar General Duke head (we are renovating the house, so there is no such thing as disposable income for the foreseeable future. That means I will have a lot of unfinished Joerauders and any posts will have borrowed parts for the pictures) . The blue visor will be replaced at some point by a red visor and glued to the Tac helmet. Also at some point, he will get a battering ram and SWAT shield (maybe Christmas). In the end, I think he will be a solid figure. Here is Stage 1 of Barricade…who, oddly, has a strong Captain Power vibe for me (Oh! And thanks to Tanker ‘sneekpick’. Your great looking V1 Barricade convinced me to try my hand at my own version. I’ve always been more partial to the V2 red & gold.) BARRICADE (V2): 1993 (WIP)

I'm pretty sure that these indie companies cooperate or at least try to stay out of each other's way. I'm sure that MJ would have thought producing gold figures as undercutting Fresh Monkey.

I’m sad the Royal-Ops didn’t make it. It only needed a little over $2100 to get unlocked.
Eventually, I’ll buy some Kronos parts and paint them gold for Iron Grenadiers I had planned. rob what color(shade of gold) and brand did you use for your Gold Trooper mock up?

Look, I understand no one is really interested in me espousing the ongoing minutiae of friggin’ V2 Barricade, but I thought I’d post again to point to a homemade helmet hack that was almost successful. A couple weeks ago, I cut off the bottom 1/3 of Grand Slam’s Riot face-shield to try to make the face-shield look a little more like the vintage visors. I kept that little piece of face-shield figuring I’d do SOMEthing with it. I tried last night to glue it to a half-shell helmet to see what would happen. Well, it almost looked good. Started by painting the face-shield with some Testor’s Clear Red. I tried to sand the face-shield and front lip of the helmet to get both pieces to fit flush, but was ultimately unsuccessful. The face-shield seems to have a slightly larger radius than does the helmet, so the face-shield kinda “wings” out at the ends. But, I guess if anyone with more talent were to try, this could be another customizing option. Just thought I’d share.

Very nice take on Pathfinder; the camo pants camo out great! The other figures (Firefly, Scrap-Iron, Downtown, and Barricade) look really good, too! Keep up the great work!
