I wanted to represent the classic Warthog AIFV, but decided the oversize missiles on top weren't working for me, so I replaced them with an active protection system. I also didn't like the scrunched up chibi look, so I lengthened it to be closer to the proportions and size of the real AAV 7. However, I didn't want to just build a model of an actual AAV 7, so I retained certain unique features from the Warthog, including placing the tracks spread further apart than the main body of the hull, and side opening doors (perhaps less realistic and of limited utility). This has been upgunned from both the AAV 7 and the original Warthog, with an autocannon in the turret. I wanted a color scheme a little more interesting than olive or dark green, so I went with a camo pattern that does homage to modern USMC digital woodland camo and IMO looks really good on vehicles.
