Not GI Joe's Flint, Action Man's Flynt, who likes extreme sports. I don't know much about the character, but there were some good New Sculpt parts available to duplicate his look. The Alpine legs were loaded with detail that I hadn't noticed until I started painting.

Ha, cool ;p and taking out a Red Shadow with a skateboard, awesome! Maybe we need a Flynt and Flint team up! ;)

Thanks, all!
I've never made a custom of Flint... Guess it's time to put it on the list. |

Another one I never knew about, checked out the original figure......spot on! Well done finding parts to capture it so well. Really cool looking character and love how your version came out!
Always fun finding really great detailing when you start to paint a figure. I typically stumble across that when I am painting something super bright. Last one was Retro collection Snake Eyes, so many details were missed by my eye until I painted one. Some great pouches and stuff on that figure that the black hides.

I guess (just speculating) that there are time/financial limits on the amount of paint masks that Hasbro can put on traditional figures. So details almost always get buried or ignored.
I was a little worried that Flynt was looking a bit too Robin, but I think the blue prevented that. The '84 Firefly chest/back is crazy with details, and a lot of the New Sculpt stuff is too. Painting customs really helps find the great sculpt work on molds. Are the Retro collection figures new? I thought they were re-releases of 25A bodies, but then people started posting these pop-apart figures and I'm confused now. Either way, they look like the detailing is rich. |

I didn’t really get Robin vibes from him so I think you definitely nailed the look of his character, especially once I started comparing it to the original release. Definitely is a bonus with customizing, helps appreciated how much extra effort goes into these things. Umm, I think the first three waves of single carded Retro figures were previous releases with some being tweaked slightly. The vehicle drivers might all be new parts or a mix of new & old but never released like this before. Then the Stalker & new Cobra Trooper are like 6” downsized builds with the thigh split and stuff like that. I’ve used a few of them for customs so far with results I’m happy with.
