i have a few 4" knight figures i use to accent my dining room. the room is in a medieval castle theme. i've added a bunch of hand made items i've done. i also have a life size suit of armor in there so i figured small suits of armor would be cool. then i got to thinking i needed a lady of the lake so here she is. i am waiting on some parts so i can do a merlin also.
what you cant see in the picture due to the flash is the 10 or so dry brush coats of blues and greens. i also added a top coat of blue chameleon paint to give it a shimmer. i wanted her to be a magical creature in the form of a human https://www.facebook.com/pg/Mach-5-C...=page_internal . That's pretty cool. But having a life sized suit of armour in your dining room is badass!!

I’m not familiar with Lady of the Lake but looks good. What are the parts you are going to add?

Cheers on the custom! Great idea, great execution. Excalibur looks sharp (pun intended). More importantly when can we come to dinner and check out that dinning room?!

thanks, really wish you all could see the shimmer on this lady but nothing i could do with the camera would pick it up.
yeah its pretty cool. i also have helm and gauntlets on display, some shields i made. tapestries, weapons. the entry way i am building a built in throne type chair so people can sit and take their shoes off. it has storage under it and a hidden compartment in in the seat back. got all kinda things going on in those rooms. ps wearing a suit of armor is not fun lol you have to walk like a zombie. very clunky. now if it wore it a lot and broke it in maybe not so bad but thats not going to happen. he just stands there holding his jousting stick and shield lol |

she is the lady from the king arthur tales. mystical lady who lives in the lake. arthur breaks excalibur, chunks it in the lake, she fix's it and gives it back to him. there is more to her then just that though.
she is done. not adding anything. what you see is what you get. |

it actually is sharp, at least the point is. poked myself a few times with it on accident and it sucked lol the only thing i'm not sure of is the gold. i have several golds. one is very blingy, this one is deep, almost bronzy. i'm going to leave it for now but might do a super light dry brush blingy gold on it for some highlights, like the light is shining off it.
dinner?! anytime. been told i'm a very good cook. let me know what you want and i'll whip it up. or grill, i have gas and charcoal. i'll do the food, you bring the beer lol! Quote:
From Arthurian legend, she is the keeper of Excalibur. Not unlike The Goddess in the early He-Man mini comics.

GIJOE episode "Excalibur" Storm Shadow's Rattler is shot down into the loch where he finds Excalibur. Freedom snatches Excalibur from his hands and returns it to The Lady of the Lake. All you see is her arm...

Also you have to be pretty fit or the suit will need to be so big the weight will be prohibitive. With that being said, I’d sell a kidney for a resin suit of Gary Oldman’s suit of armor from Dracula. i dont know the thickness of this one. its not much so idk if its historical gauge or just what the guy used but the suit isnt light altogether. i've seen a bunch of real suits but never had the chance to be up close and touch one. mine is just for poops and laughs in the corner of the room. trying to move in it is tricky and i think so because the joints are not worn in so there is some metal on metal binding until some corners are rounded off from use. the weight wearing it i can handle, i'm 6'6" 225lbs.
i love beer but my heart is in the booze, that i got use covered on. got some good stuff down in my bar. just picked up a bottle of Ol' Forester's Statesman. had to have it since it was in the movie. even own the pistol to go with it. but i dont shoot and drink at the same time lol Quote:
Thrones and hidden compartments.?! It sounds like a life sized Fortress of Fangs! I’m in!

It will take us a fort night to get drunk on beer, let’s go right for whiskey and brandy. ;) |
