The wild weasel head was a krexx/angel forge/MSWI as far as I know.

Found it on page 7 of 13. Now going to go back and re-review the rest of the portfolio. Going back over all these is quite the humbling experience for me, and maybe most others. What a library, and all hand-sculpted??? |

Thanks Turner. Based on this info, I looked it up at the angelforge site, and found it under works by krexx, male head 0620.

What a library, and all hand-sculpted??? He, Krexx, or whoever does have an unique style. There is a Cobra Commander head sculpt that looks pretty awesome. It's just the chrome dome battle helmet, but it has this almost comic book roundness to it. Jason |

A month ago I mentioned a possible future change with Tomax & Xamot using casts of the FSS heads. Turns out that I did do some prelim painting on the heads as well as a test shot on the bodies. This was done while I was also setting up and testing the the new group shot, all back in Nov 2021:
2021-12-31_03-12-46 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr In the shot above, I was making sure all the figures were photo ready (paints, joint mods), good vanillas poses (ST: close your legs, firefly: you're leaning back, Zartan turn a little right, CC: stand straight, everyone please look at the camera), testing out the new back riser, and assessing the black background (in the end I would put cool-light LED pucks behind the riser for bluish backlighting). The head paint jobs were also prelim in that I skipped painting the sclera (eye whites), and did the eyebrows and pupils roughly. Also the heads were set on the necks with clay instead of hot glue I use for final. The heads don't really sit well on the original bodies' neck. First, the neck is pretty short and needs a good amount of fill. Second, the extra hair on the back gets in the way of the armor--I believe I had to cut I little bit of the hair and redrill the head hole further to the back to get it looking somewhat...regular. Also, as with most "modern" figures, the neck sculpt is pretty narrow--head on neck can be set to look good straight on, but look strange from other angles. PhotoGrid_Plus_1640949373117 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr People who had the actual FSS heads have noted for a while that the twin heads were noticeably different in size. I didn't see this myself until after studying the photo. They seemed the same when they were unpainted and not on a body. I also though that maybe Xamot was set back in the photo making him smaller via perspective--but even accounting for that, I heads are definitely umatched in size and killing the whole mirrored effect that's pretty essential to them. 2021-12-31_03-36-45 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Even if the head sizes matched, I think the heads are just too big for the body. Group photos like above help bring that out, and size consistency within a group is a really big deal for me (especially for my most prized groups). The original heads may be slightly undersized but I think closer to an ideal size the oversized FSS heads. Oversized heads tend to make the body look small, and then make the whole figure look small and adolescent. It was an issue I had with the SDCC Baroness head that was corrected with a shrunken head. So if shrunken (and matching) twin heads become available as some point, I'd consider revisting this. I also think the FSS heads are a little too square jawed. Ideally, I'd also like X&T to be a little more esoteric, maybe even androgynous. Back in Nov, I even tried an MTF female head with makeup removed, but it went a too far. 2021-12-31_03-24-39 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Anyway, one last final updated group shout in display set up coming up. Dragging my feet on it because It likely ends an important chapter to my collection... |

I like the Xamot FSS head, but don't understand why the Tomax head is different in size. Even if Xamot's head is a little big, be consistent and let both figures have big heads. I have a FSS Xamot figure, but having bitten the bullet for a Tomax. Another thing about the FSS figures is that they got the hair styles backwards. V.1 Xamot's hair (and subsequent figures including 25th) is parted to his right. The FSS figure's hair parts to his left.
I've actually looked at two Star Wars figures: Fixer and Col. Cracken as alternative Tomax heads. I think the Crimson Twins are pretty iconic figures that deserve a good modern version. Jason |

For the o-ringers, taken in early Dec 2020, in "anticipation". Pre therapy for me, honestly...

These are all amazing.
The size of the twins' head is one of those things that I wouldn't have ever noticed, but your attention to detail pays off. |

Finally got the big boat for this guy. Found at a friend's friend's estate sale today. Skipped him as a kid since it was too large and had no non-generic Cobra figure. The seller had two of these, but I didn't need two. Actually I really didn't need the one. So yeah I bought them both. Cobra! These things fold up right? |
