These are neo vipers, created in the comics when imag/ ddp
restarted the book. https://www.joecustoms.com/customs/c...=1734&id=13309 Personally, the only redesign from that period I like is Shipwreck's, though I liked the idea of Hawk's hair going white, trumping the blonde vs brunette issue his figure/character had. |

Nice to see the snapshots on the evolution on these gems. SCRAPPY: I like the darker color scheme for Scrap Iron. It doesn?t make sense to think so but I always intuitively felt he should be on Destro?s side of the line, so the darker the colors the better in my mind. THE PALINDROME TWINS: It definitely seems hard to find good updated heads for Tomax & Xamot for the reasons you mentioned. I haven?t tried, but I?ve thought about it watching others make customs of them and it?s a lingering puzzle for me. I won?t attempt it until that problem is solved. Having someone shrink the FSS heads to be equal size would fix the problem easily. ZARTAN: The ROC Snake Eyes torso on Zartan surprised me but it really works. you make me think there is a use for those rubber abs after all. Zartan?s is another 25th head I?ve gotten tired of. WILD WEASEL: this is the definitive Wild Weasel custom in my book. Still looks great! BLUDD: I?m curious to see your updated build. I?ve wanted to make a good BLUDD from the JoeCon head cast, but I haven?t worked out the rest of the figure yet. COPPERHEAD. Nice job on those arms. I tried something similar recently but it didn?t work out.

I love that Wild Weasel update! He has always been one of my favorite Cobras.

For T&X, I got paraviper/cobra1678's twin casts which seem to be equal size, just too big for my taste. I only got as far as painting their hair a few months ago before. Maybe sometime next month I've finish off the painting a take some pics so that others can judge. Zartan's torso idea was inspired by BorisPing's work. He used a different SE torso (Resolute/Paris Pursuit?), but got me trying out other options. For Bludd, the issue with the WIP is messing with the armored right arm, and slicing open a 50th fF torso--work I'm not in the right zone to do right now. Quote:
Thanks, credit to Mr Jason above (jlw515), and to Stronox on that. I could use help on the origins of the cast--where it came from--if anyone knows. The Hasbro 25th head cast is great, but this cast is so much better. I wasn't expecting it's sculpt to be so well proportioned, balanced, and detailed up close. |

Do you know if this head sculpt comes from a figure (maybe another era?), or is a made from scratch sculpt? I'm usually leary of non-official heads, but this one was very well crafted--and nice blend of modern and classic.

On another note, I sent you this pic through FB Messenger, but wanted to post it to your thread as well. In our prior discussions on Cobra Troopers, it appears that the "pistol" on the web gear is supposed to depict a type of grenade launcher. Hmmm. Jason |

Love seeing your updates on your customs, they are Truly Amazing, from the choices in parts, the tweaking and shaping of the parts to fit just right, down to the painting and finishing to get that right look, Perfection!
