It looks great as is. Though, I'm curious if it would look better with the green head and black goggles.

I'll let you take the reigns with further progressions, and wait for more thoughts from others. Again, the original idea we're exploring: "Snake Eyes and Scarlett should've been green like the rest of the O13". This was kinda fun. Also a little different for me--I usually take months exploring little tweaks and options like this, without ongoing feedback. 20210704_202132 (2)~2 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr

With Scarlett, you could just paint the yellow parts green.

OK AWOL, I got one more iteration for you of Snake Eyes. I actually agreed with you on having the mask green, but to do that required a full body paint over and I wasn’t really ready//eager to do it. Also I haven’t painted a vintage figure in a number of years, especially after vintage figure painter KwinnLives raised the bar here at the Tank in 2018.
(Aside: check out Kwinn Lives stuff over at JoeCustoms.com, he’s got green style Snake Eyes and Scarlett in vintage style. To filter out for his stuff, goto Gallery then Customizer List. He posts his stuff here, but not all his stuff. On my to do list is repaint eyes on my vintage OG13's similar to his custom style.) While doing this green SE side project, I am also making another 30th//POC//50th/Retro classic Snake Eyes using the new Retro Stalker webgear. I had an extra body and did a quick dark green version similar to what we’ve been doing with the vintage with the addition of the green head. It looked really good on that figure, so decided to do it on the vintage figure late last night: 20210705_152912 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr The green used is Tamiya XF-74 OD (JGSDF). I have no idea what any of that stands for. On my 30th//POC//50th/Retro I’ve got a really dark grey instead of gloss black, which was somewhat influenced by the 30th Steel Brigade Delta figure’s color scheme, but It wasn’t really working with the vintage set—no grey paint in the vintage set surprisingly. 20210705_165903 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above is a lineup of figures in the 3 different greens used by the original vintage figures along with the repainted SE. The Tamiya OD JDSDF (??) is a pretty good match to the RocknRoll and Grand Slam hue. I was hoping the green would be darker—it was darker when done of the 30th//POC//50th/Retro but that figure had a black base. Still, the match to the vintage helps sell the idea of this repaint being a legit alternate (though I should switch up for true vintage legs and hips). I don’t have an extra Scarlett (neither vintage nor modern) to try a green pattern. Maybe someone else can try. My first pass would be to paint the yellow leotard with Vallejo 70.882 Middlestone (=Zap//Steeler light green), then see what happens. I would think the main trick would be to keep her true Scarlett, and not make her look like a pre-knockoff of Lady Jaye. 20210705_152912 (1) by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 20210705_152912 (2) by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr |

Amongst other OG13 tasks, I’ve trying to finish up another modern classic style Snake Eyes based on the POC/30th/50th/Retro mold before moving on to a new Retro mold build. The green Snake Eyes study got me a little sidetracked, but in a good way. A quick repaint of a P/30/50/R build got me motivated to finish off the vintage green Snake Eyes that I found plausible and satisfying. Below are is the study figure finished off for presentation, along with 4 others of the same body done up in slightly different ways.
20210707_034617 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Left is a paint tweak of the 3 pack Retaliation version. He’s kinda floated around in my collection with no real home but now I think he’ll be set with some versions of Stalker and Scarlett that are in a vintage color friendly but in styles modern and different. Flanking the green SE are my 2 classic style version on the modern build. Left of green is the one I’ve been using for pictures with other figures in the last year. He has a 25th webgear modified with extended length by splicing on extra vertical straps from another sacrificial 25th webgear. It’s not perfect (you may be able to spot the splice points), but was the only option before the new Retro Stalker came out. Right of green SE is the second newer build this time using a modified 25th SE head and modified webgear from Retro Collection Stalker—much easier to modify than the 25th webgear. The belt was unglued in the back (via heat), cut for a smaller waistline and reglued. The straps over the shoulder were also thinned down, whittled thin with an exacto knife. This let the webgear sit lower on the body while also making the gear more pliable. The gear unmodified is relatively stiff and thick, and also cast in a weird folded shape that makes the straps sit high. If you try the gear on the figure yourself you’ll see what I mean. 2021-07-07_04-33-35 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr On both classic moderns, the left leg pouch was replaced by the explosives holder that came with the 50th female Cobra officer which has matching leg molds. For the right pouch, I used the 50th Flint/Retaliation Firefly pouch, with the head of the device cut off to clear the webger holster. Having two holsters on the right seemed really off, and the one on the webgear would be difficult to cut off without cutting thru the belt. Finally on the right is the newer 2020 Retro Collection Snake Eyes, unmodified. I had him for a while, but just opened him up a few days ago. I find the slight differences in the various black areas very interesting and was going to use this for one of the classic guys. Instead I decided to keep him as a default in my collection paired with my 50th/POC Stalker and my 2020 Retro Scarlett. 20210707_034617 (1) by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr The green Snake Eyes here looked better rough and in hand than the final picture. It may not have been as glossy earlier. Also, the rough version was using the 25th head that I needed for Snake Eyes 4 pictured and I actually don’t have any spares left. I am also noticing that the heads of Snake Eyes 2 and 3 have different shapes despite being the same mold. The head on green SE comes from a Dollar General SE, and seems to have a bigger crown. Honestly, green SE with this head looks like an alien, no? I actually like my green vintage version better than this one. You can always try painting the 25th head green (the one to our right of green Snake Eyes).
