Last night I took some more Grunt photos for my collection archive. This Grunt was only meant to be temporary and to see if there was a good head and helmet to make a Grunt in the near future for permanent stay on in my collection. This weekend I was going to tear him and Clutch down to do some more test concepts for some other OG13 figures.

This weekend I found a few more Stalker figures, which will let me keep more of this new complete OG13 customs. However with the MGR store closed for a few weeks, I won't have the additional heads, helmets, and rolled sleeve arms to have them all together at once any time soon. Still, the parts I've been testing in the last week or so feel promising and I want to get fully painted mockups for those done and photo'd in the next two weeks. Then in August I might have the parts and enough bodies to make an updated 9/13OG set.

Most the of next figures I want to do will have the smae body suit color as Clutch and Grunt pictured, making the next figures easier to do with all the parts shown along with other test parts.

Below is a progress snapshot of the group up to this point. I'm calling it OG4.5/13 because Snake Eyes shown is a temp, using unwanted leftover Retro parts to add another figure for the shot and using Snake Eye's all-black scheme to muffle those parts.

More notes and full color will be posted in the general build overview thread, once it's my turn for new info (my last post may have been a bit overload).

I've bought 4 Stalkers thus far and have to agree that there are pros and cons to the retro sculpt vs POC sculpt. I wish the arms were somehow compatible with the POC sculpts because I love new arms. The articulation works really well on the Retro figure also. I have a sneaky feeling that Hasbro will release more O13 figures in this sculpt. They'd be crazy not to build off the hype of their Classified Breaker figure and not offer a Breaker-RAM box set.

In the meantime, I'm sticking with my POC/DG Shipwreck O13 builds and using the Retro Stalker web gear for Grunt, Breaker, Snake Eyes, and Stalker. Hawk in my O13 is more like Tomahawk with the garrison cap and sun classes. So, I'm making him a shoulder harness.

The arms might be swappable by cutting through the shoulder joint that plugs through the ring. It's something on my to-do testing list, but saving for later due to its potentially destructive results.

I'd be betting on either Flash or Snake Eyes being the next OG13. I'm thinking Flash because he's always been flashier looking than the others with the orange and silver (seems like Hasbro needs the color to stay competitive on today's planograms). But part of it is also wishful thinking (NEED NEW SEPARATE CHESTGEAR!!!). Also, Flash was the first and 1 or 2 greenshirt OG13 that they released, carded, in the 25th line (discounting the big 3).

Then again I'd love for them to do Breaker very soon to align with the Classified release. I'd take him with a RAM or without, just get him out there with tweaked new headgear and head--he's top half OG13 to me (because of the Hama comics).

I've been waiting for the breakdown of you POC OG13 for almost a year (11 months to this day) since you teased it (JLW515's Custom Thread Update) . I'm sure you've made some tweaks since then, but mainly waiting for the writeups on each one. I'm a big fan of the thought and build process.

Thanks for the props! I've got some down time over the summer before post-grad school begins. So, my goal is to have all my OG13s customs posted by the end of July. I'm glad I waited because I originally used MTF WWII web gear but had to like piece it together. I really like the retro Stalker web gear better. Plus, I'll be adding a dark blue "retro" hooded Cobra Commander.

I was thinking when I saw stalker that it would be a good base color for Zap if you could remove the camo. I am by far not a customizer and have zero skills in that department. I have an extra stalker that I would like to try if you have any tips and suggestions if that's even possible. For me, it would turn out way better than my nonexistent painting skills and have better articulation than the Cobra Island figure.

You must have been reading my mind from yesterday! I've been tackling this issue this weekend. Not ready to give the results yet--look at for more within the week.

Below was the task #1 this weekend. Took my Grunt, painted pouches, switched accessories, switched heads (my 25th Chuckles head may finally have a forever home this year). Makes me feel a little better about buying 3 more Stalkers this weekend...

HHFF, its always a treat to see your customs, they're AWWESOME!, you know the one thing that bothers me on these new Hasbro Figures is that they forgot to add their NBC protective mask carrier on their left side thigh like on the originals, (Breaker, Clutch, Grunt, Hawk, Short Fuze, Stalker, Zap) all had the M17 NBC protective mask carrier on their left side thigh, they were painted either Brown, Black, Silver or left unpainted depending on the which figure

Oh. I never knew that classic left thigh was a specific thing other than a generic pouch. I had a vintage Clutch around at this moment, and the pouches on both kegs are definitely sculpted differently (never noticed it until now). Where did you get this wonderful nugget of info???

Regardless, it doesn't bother me at all that this was never recreated in finer detail on modern sculpts, since I don't worry about the small details.
