2021-01-10_12-19-42 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Another thing that sidetracked me this weekend (besides being a little ill) was a new idea for replacing Scarlett's gloves/hands, which I though I'd share to close out Scarlett--and as lots of folks are getting their preordered Retro Scarletts: 2021-01-10_12-13-43 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr If you aren't happy with those short gloves on Retro Scarlett (or on Resolute Scarlett) an option would be to use the 25th Scarlett lower arms and gloves, which I had done myself previously. I really liked the longer glove look, but hate how BIG the hands were. While working on updating my blue O13 BARONESS this last week, I found that using the 50th Baroness gloves fit well on the 25th Scarlett arms, and that the snake detailing can be cut off and sanded down. The hands aren't oversized, and can still hold her bowcaster securely. Bonus details can be added if you have an extra 2004 comic pack Scarlett. The lower arms are made of soft plastic, so that when heated, the little pistol and throwing stars on those gloves can be sliced off easily and glued on to the updated figure, to complete the true retro look. Getting an extra one of these Scarlett's might not be cheap these days, but I got an extra one or two cheap about 5 years ago at a local Vintage Stock, which I also used to replace the broken waist piece of my vintage Scarlett earlier this year. I only noticed tonight that the locations of stars/pistol were swapped on figure and card art--I followed the figure, since that was my reference at the time, and also makes more practical sense. I'm glad I got this item off my to-do list. Hopefully I can ignore my urge to give here fully articulated ball-joint hands...

Wow - Several things I really, really like here. First, the group picture is awesome. I presume you’re still using magnets to get the purposeful momentum especially with Stalker, and your photography is always cool but it’s the details in the figures gets me excited. I’m really feeling that Stalker. And when I see a General Hawk as good as that, who needs Duke! The new gloves on Scarlett look great. I wanted to put a pistol on mine’s sleeve too, but I worried it would be too big. Looks great though!

Man that Stalker has got that retro late 1970s/early 1980s vibe all over it!

You know it. I took a bunch of pictures last month before the moustache, but threw them all out once I realized it needed to change to feel right. I'm glad the sculpt had enough chin mold to lose the goatee. Hard to believe its that same POC/Resolute head sometimes. This was one of many things (Scarlett update, card art idea, Col Hawk idea, health) that delayed the forthcoming Stalker post... |

STALKER [40TH Concept]
2020-12-25_01-27-28 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr BUILD: • Body: 50th DOTD Flint • Thigh holster: POC Cobra Jungle Viper • Thigh pack: 50th Dollar General Cobra Trooper • Head: 30th/POC Stalker (modified) • Beret: ?? • Webgear: cast from Raginspoon (modified) Paints: Testors Olive Drab, Testors Wood, Testors Leather, Tamiya Deep Green (mixed) NOTES: This is a Stalker build that I will use for pictures of my Joe figures 1983-????. Though I still love the original 25th version, it’s just to small next to figures included in this thread. Along with my previous 40th Scarlett, and a POC/30th/50th/Retro (!) Snake Eyes with tweaked 25th webgear, I have updated taller versions of these OG13 characters in more classic form that stand with my other T13 figures, also in modern classic form. My final version of this figure is sort mashup of version of Stalker looks, using my favorite Joe parts, and inspired by both the vintage figure for the green camo, and the comics (post Trimpe and Vosburg)—though he was started in 2018 inspired by his GI Comic #26 flashback look, back in post 112 (https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5148720). He then showed up this year in pics updated with a camo look with my Retro Rebuild Scarlett (https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5345831), as well as in pics with my Ripcord in my other Joe thread (https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...ml#post5338941), where I found a real need for this figure. The main changes in this final version from previous pics are added bits to the webgear, and changing his goatee to a more retro appropriate moustache. My 50th Retro style Stalker, before black paint wash and brown drybrush by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr First incarnation Aug 2018, goatee, no camo GiJoe_O13-Stalker-AdditionalFigs_2018-0805ac by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr More Stalkers from 2018. (I really dig Stalker). Webgear back then was from Roadblock, but need it back for 2019 Roadblock update. Raginspoon webgear used later, was originally bought to be used for 2019 Roadblock, but didn’t fit as I hoped. 2021-01-18_10-24-57 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr My 40th Stalker’s paint scheme was based on the center 25th repaint above, which is a meld of the darker Target Battlepack version (left), but with the webgear coloring more comic version influenced (yet not as bright and vivid as the one from my 25th Comic Version OG13 set as seen on the right). 2020-09-23_12-03-54 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr From Sept 2020, dusted him off, and threw a quick and dirty dark/light green camo, and threw him in the back. 2020-10-25_01-08-24 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr From Oct 2020, test shot with my new Scarlett, used to determine final fixes needed. 2020-12-24_10-08-06 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Final fixes (moustache and webgear) 2021-01-09_11-44-07 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr HHFF obligatory 5-figure shot for comparisons/studies. 2020-12-23_11-29-41 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr O-ring, 25th, Retro PhotoGrid_1608792499006 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr O-ring, 25th, Retro 2020-12-24_12-29-14 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Concept file card shots 2020-12-25_12-58-22 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Bringing the ‘splosions back… 2020-12-25_02-50-43 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Raw 2020-12-24_10-06-43 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Final processed 2020-12-25_02-55-30 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Before and after 2020-12-25_01-11-01 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Compare, 1x1 2020-12-24_10-06-55 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Compare 4x3 2020-12-25_12-34-25 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Compare 16x9 2020-12-25_02-50-55 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Preliminary test, processed.
