That Wild Weasel looks epic!!! Are those two upper torsos for his body?

It's such a great lineup, and i can't get enough of those group photos.
I really love your generic troops, Wild Weasel and Scrap Iron. Looking forward to getting a WW cast from Voetious, so that i can upgrade mine. I'm not that much into costomizing, but small tweaks are fun to do. What missile launcher did you use for SI? I've been looking for one, but only have the one from Roc Duke/Salvo, and it's a bit on the large side. The Wild Weasel scarf used is from the Resolute Pilot Destro, or could be an AVAC cast of the same piece. It was cut down severely to work with the head and shoulders, and to show as much blue collar underneath as I could get away with. It’s crazy how little things like that blue collar become so important to me… Quote:
And thus begins…WW v WW (maybe)… Quote:
My last holdout/want of the 25th collection is an updated 25th Rattler. I didn’t buy it back when it was at retail, since at the time I didn’t think there was any difference with the old and new release, and I was real selective with purchases (knew that WW would be released in a two-pack as well). So my modern Wild Weasel has no ride of his own, and is really learning to deal with it… Quote:
Yes! I’ve been told. Never. So, thank you! Thanks. I’m very happy with this figure right now, but I still give props to Stronox and Ceraurus for setting the bar with this guy. I knew that I wanted to stay as close to both the vintage and 25th releases as possible, but look as sharp as possible within that limitation. And thanks for all the comments guys! gCobra_25th_84-x6p1_2019-0327ba by J Perez, on Flickr |

LOVE the second row of pouches -- might have to steal that!
Any plans to swap out the duck boots carried over from Snow Job? Also, you might give one of Maruader's neck scarves a try. I've got a blue one on my WW and it looks great. A nice approximation of the original's ascot.

gCobra_25th_84-xWildWeasel_2019-0325bc by J Perez, on Flickr While ordering a bunch of Viper heads from ebay seller Cobra1678, I also got the WW head cast similar to that used by jlw515. It took a few weeks to get around to painting it up. I wasn't sure I'd like it better than the actual 25th sculpt but I do. And since I was updating the head, I thought it was time to do some other mods I had in mind for a while to get closer to the vintage figure look... Does Cobra1678 still have a shop on eBay??? I want one of those heads!!! |

In addition to your amazing customs work, I'm impressed (and perplexed) by your photography. Any chance you could give us a peek at your setup and maybe some tips on how you get such crisp colors with you lighting and such?

A nice approximation of the original's ascot. Regarding the scarf, when doing this latest update I spent days trying different combos of various modified neck scarfs I bought from AVACs Lab and Raginspoon, including ones for the 50th Spirit, 50th and the Retaliation Joe Trooper, and 50th Stiletto. I ended up going back to the one shown because it masks the figures wide and flat shoulders—which I got so used to not seeing. My close second choice is used for my generic Rattler Pilot in the 84 collection photo. Quote:

Interesting point about Copperhead’s height. I’m always a stickler for good relative height of figures I consider and photgraph as a set (25th RockNRoll, this mean you). The original 25th Copperhead figure(s) are indeed pretty tall as produced—even taller than the original 25th Roadblock, whose torso he uses. Go see the GeneralJoes.com review for that comparison. Also note that Justin and Fred don’t really comment on the height. Copperhead being taller didn’t feel wrong, and I think we’ve all just got use to it after 10 or 12 years (!). For me, just as long as he not taller than Destro, and not set up on the upper tier of 2-tier photos, I like him at this figure’s height. Also, I really like the sculpting detail of the legs, unique for Copperhead—even if they are a little on the skinny side and don’t have double knee joints. I am always tempted to do an update on him (my version is basically the Hasbro release, with modified deltoids, new hands, and some repaint), like ones done by Ian (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...opperhead.html) and Ceraurus (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-ceraurus.html), using the Retaliation Roadblock torso and arms (and those new MTF elbow pads if they work with the arms). But I’ve not done so specifically for height reasons, as such a build would be even taller than the one in my set. Last, on the topic of Copperhead: I recently did a new LBC Copperhead custom for a "1987" 5-figure concept pack, which I hope to get photographed this month... |

As it turns out, V15 Wild Bill gets it all wrong for a chopper pilot, but just about perfect for a fighter jock (except for those awful, awful arms..)
Not sure if you could get those lower legs to mate well with WW’s uppers, but any sort of laced boot/shoe might be better than Snowjob’s mukluks.
