My favorite year of G.I.Joe! I am SO happy to see how much care you have given to this lineup. A masterclass.

That is an amazing Bludd.
The FANG pilot HISS Driver is sensational. Makes me wish Hasbro had made a Ripcord-style mask to pull over the face to make a "pilot" version of the HISS Driver. |

tweaking a custom to one?s satisfaction -ah, the struggle is real. It seems few put as much scrutiny into the little things over the long haul as you do. You painted that head to look better than it ever has. You mentioned the exclusive head being too big - I was betting that was your reason before you stated it. It seems you tend to use casts quite sparingly, but you did use the shrunken baroness head. If a slightly smaller version of the 2018 JoeCon head existed do you think you would prefer it?
thanks Slice, thanks shishi. Hope things don't get redundant after 1800 pics (but ultimately no way around it for what I do). |

Love all the photos on this thread. They really show the updates that you do to each figure to get exactly how you want them. Keep up the great work!

I'd still go with the 25th head! I love the stache and the teeth really. And getting the right size is hit and miss, and not something you can assess when buying casts online. Plus I like slightly undersized heads, part of the whole early 25th aesthetic that I've absorbed deeply. I've been tempted to try a head cast, to deal with troublesome head sizes. Unforturnately, I've also decided to concentrate on cooking this year... |

Bludd looks really nice! Really wish Hasbro didn't just copy the vintage one and actually gave us an articulated right arm.

I always get great enjoyment from your updates and always inevitably looking back on your other works. You're very methodical and it's great for everyone how much you document your process and thinking, I know I've bookmarked and saved several ideas from you to eventually implement in my own collection.

MAJOR BLUDD (2023 40TH REDUX) [part deux]
More pics of Bludd, some of them test shots as I struggled with the overall proportions of this build. Previous showed the Bludd build along with other Cobras, with the initial build. Below are a few more: 2023-06-26_11-46-34 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above, with my previous Bludd. Very different proportions which took some time for me to get on board with. I?ve stuck by that previous Bludd for almost ten years, and have always liked the chest size and sculpt despite not being as a bit deviant from the vintage. , 20230121_191130 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above and below Bludd is pictured alongside his main body part donors, upper body from my FF? 20230121_192658 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr legs from my CC (which is the 2012 CC upper legs, 2008 Desert 7pack Bludd lower legs. 2023-06-26_10-08-08 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr He probably looks ok with his straight body donors?maybe issues I have don?t really show at quarter turn view? He also looked at with bigger Destro and smaller Baroness, but I just couldn?t get over his oddness next to SS and Zartan. 2023-06-26_11-49-19 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr I ultimately felt it the problem was with the legs, which was disappointing. These legs were a good match to the vintage look despite the holster being on the opposite leg. But the uppers are just too long, skinny and bare. They also bowed at the knees due to a gap in the back, but that would be fixed by using MGR elbow pads as knee pads. 2023-04-08_10-47-25 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above is the first test shot where I finally gave in, and switched upper legs to 50th Firefly, same ones used for all my Cobra Blueshirts, Scrap-Iron, and a whole crapload of Joes. I really tried to stay away from these on new builds in the last two years. But in the end it was the best option (again). But as a bonus, the right holster could hold the rocket launcher with minor tweaks. 2023-06-26_11-50-56 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above/Below: proof of sanity (or total lack of). 2023-06-26_11-51-10 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Above, with other figs and the updated legs. Didn?t look any worse (except maybe with CC), so I went with the new legs. 2023-06-26_11-57-01 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Height check: right in the middle of these seven (my seven choice Cobras if I had to cull down) 2023-06-27_12-00-50 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 2023-06-26_11-59-04 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 2023-06-27_12-04-21 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 2023-06-27_12-05-41 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 2023-06-27_12-06-07 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 2023-06-27_12-07-29 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 83 OGs 2023-04-15_10-45-32 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr Side by side with Garrido inspirations 2023-04-15_10-47-52 by HissHissFangFang, on Flickr 1983 Music Album Cover?
