So if this is a dumb question, feel free to "internet shoot me", but I have 0 knowledge of MTF outside of the excellent work you guys are doing with them.
I've recently seen a lot of the "Joe" type MTF parts around- are they licensed? And if not, why in the hell not??!!? If Hasbro isn't (by all rumored accounts) going to continue to give us 4" scale figures, they really ought to think about working out a deal... in my opinion, these look better than anything we've gotten from the "source" anyway! |

First of all, it's not a dumb question. I don't believe they're licensed by Hasbro. If you go to the website, you'll see that none of them are referred to by code name. For example, Tunnel Rat is "Explosive Ordinance", Outback is "Wilderness Scout", Lifeline is "Medic". And yes, many of them, especially their Duke ("NCO"), are better than what "the source" has given us.

You're welcome! Definitely think about getting some of those figures, they're really awesome! It feels like the shot in the arm Joe needs right now! I have all 8 of the "not Joes" plus 2 Contractor Ops figures and a couple of other MTF figs to make up my "new" Joe team.

These look great! I particularly like that Televiper. Your paint apps on these make the biggest difference as they don't look like generic, part-swapped, MTF figures. They actually have some personality.

Tunnel Rat looks amazing! I’m working on one myself using their deluxe loadout.
I’m hoping I can make the markings look as good as yours! What head did you use? I’m struggling with my choices but have a couple in mind. I may even wait on the MTF WW2 heads variety pack to ship.

I used an extra head from the Boss Fight Black Knight blank; it's the same head that comes with the Knight of Accord and the Knight of Asperity figures, but was unpainted. I chose it because I knew that I would have to paint all of the flesh to match, but wouldn't have to worry about painting the hair, thus eliminating the chance of the paint sticking to the bandana. The MTF WWII heads might be even better choices though!
-Todd Shakka85 I’ll probably wait until the WW2 heads come in to make a final decision.
