This started out as what I called my Quad Cat or Bobcat custom. I was looking at ways to change the design of the cab when I found a broken rear section of a Mean Dog. I realized I could cut it so that it just fit over top of the Cats front. Not quite all that easy it required a lot of cutting and extending out the front of the Snow Cat. I was able to use the tope part of the rear gate as the front grill, if you look closely it has lights in the four square holes. I also cut the top hinge of the canopy out to make more room for the figures to fit inside and then added my own scratch built hinged hatch cover. Tons of little styrene filler pieces were made to cover all the small gaps underneath and up top. I finished it in a metallic blue matte paint I've used several times. I think it really has that traditional Cobra Look.
Purge Viper named by Sean R. on Face Books Joe Nation. This was a beat down Corps figure I probably got in a parts lot years ago. I recently found it and added new arms from Undertow, sanded off it's cheesy chest detail and painted it in a classic Cobra scheme. The Cobra Blood Bath is the newest vehicle of destruction and terror designed by Cobra. The main cannon fires a shell that works like a guided missile. The Blood Bath was designed to rip through the Joes Maulers armour and other artillery. It is also used to take out building bunkers bridges and other infrastructure. Here's a few WIPS.

Reminds me of a M109 Self Propelled Howitzer, or a Maggot 2.0 where it is all on one tracked vehicle. Love the concept. Wish the turret turned though, or does it?

Yeah that was my idea a shelf propelled cannon. No it doesn't turn, to make it turn it would have to be longer and taller. My original idea was to have turning side guns, the orange ones in the WIPS. But I used them on the second version of this and they will turn.

This might just be my most favorite custom that you've made. The Mean Dog is that one vehicle that came out after I gave up on vehicles that I always wanted. The Cobra blue really suits it. And I love the detail work on the track wheels!
It vaguely reminds me of the Attack Track from the old He-Man cartoons. All you need to do now is make a Cobra (or Dreadnok) version of the Battle Ram! |
