Oh, just a couple more quick comments I forgot:
1. Matching that skin tone is another big pain in the butt since the neck doesn't quite match the arms. I'll get the exact colors posted on the final posting, but I used some kind of Citadel burnt umber color and mixed it with a tiny bit of a brick red color for the base paint. Then when I was touching up the details, I did some dry brushing and blending of the burnt umber color to try to high light the great sculpt. 2. I plan to add better articulated hands. For the time being, I will paint some hands I already have, but will probably change them out with green MTF hands. However, my plan is to cut the ends of the "Retroblock" gloves off and glue them to the ends of the forearms in order to keep the arm length. 3. I am going to go back and mask off the leg straps to get straighter lines on them. I think the leg straps are the part that bug me the most. Jason |

Nice!!! I would say the pants need to be darker, but you said they are.
I found the Tamyia paint Hull Red is a match for that Retro RB torso skin tone. You will need to put Matte varnish over it as it's a little glossy. I'm no eye painting expert, but I found using a fine tip Gundam pen works well for eyes. Just put a line along the upper edge, and then put a dot where you want the iris/pupil complex. The hard part is getting the pupils in the same position so it looks like both eyes are pointing in the same direction. I like it so far. We need more of these customs showing Hasbro what greatness can be done with their lazy treatment of the Retro line.

Yes it has been a while! Glad to see you back at it, and giving the details of your progress on Roadblock. I’m sure he will be killer when you are done with him. Lots of good things going on with this one so far. I’m still waiting on my order from WM but I’ll be taking note.

I'm going to look for that Tamiya paint because I want to have the alternate Resolute head since my other Roadblock customs use that sculpt. Thanks again! Jason |

Thanks for the tips, especially the paint color for the skin tone! I use a Micron pen to paint the eyes, but the TF Roadblock head sculpt's eyes are kind of sunk into the sculpt.

No prob. You can look at my Col. Courage custom to see the paint on a figure.
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...l-courage.html One of my goals over the holiday break is to photograph and upload my revamped O13 customs and "Retroblock." Thanks again. Jason |

Here is my finished custom of the new "Retro" Roadblock aka "Retroblock." Hisstank members Hisshissfangfang and 46 Zone's customs served as inspiration for the parts build for this custom.
The upper body and arms are from the new "Retro" Roadblock figure. The head is a custom resin cast of the FSS Tiger Force Roadblock head. I hate painting eyes, and these seemed even more difficult with the sculpt. I am happy with how they turned out though. I used a Micron pen to paint in the pupil. Huge shout out and thanks to 46 Zone for suggesting using Tamiya Hull Red to match the chest's skin tone. For the hands, I cut off the cuffs of the Retroblock gloves and Dremelled a hole through them. Then inserted the hands from Retaliation Roadblock v23 through the sliced cuffes into the fore arms. I followed Hisshissfangfang's custom and used Retalation Roadblock v23 thighs and knees with 50th Gung-Ho calves/boots. I removed those big holsters and the boot knife. I decided to keep the knee pads green to match the other green on the figure and because I hate painting joints. The pants were painted using Vallejo Parasite Brown (orange) and Citadel Waaagh! Flesh (green). I added an MTF holster, ammo pouch, and trench knife. All the painted pieces were sprayed with Testor's Dull Coat. I made the web gear from a Rock-Viper web gear and a 50th Gung-Ho ammo backpack. I added a couple of MTF pouches and a grenade from a Snake Eyes bandolier to look more like ARAH Roadblock's gear. These were the best parts I had laying around and will be swapped out later with an MTF web gear and custom backpack. I'm really thinking of customizing the smaller ammo backpack from Iron Grenadier v8 to hold a tripod similar to the ARAH Roadblock backpack. My wife found me all of Wave 2 for Christmas! And then the Saturday after Christmas, my Army son found me another Scarlett while one a road trip to Branson. So, I'll be working on finishing up my updated O13 (14?) project as well a "Retro" Scarlett. Stay tuned... As always, comments, questions, and critiques are highly encouraged and appreciated. Jason |

I originally thought of using the new WW2 German web gear for Roadblock, but that gear is too small and skinny for such a muscular figure. The standard MTF gear looks great (I have a tan set that I tried on him) and really does not require any modifications.
