SB You've set this thread on fire...you've done it again and again! These recruits are so nicely executed and I have to say I'm loving this unannounced "Artisan" collaboration between yourself, Coby, & Ervey and look forward to seeing more of that. Congratulations as well on the new milestone!
It's hard to pick a favorite here yet I have a soft spot for newly created/developed characters so yeah I'm a huge fan of Sukeban. Definitely one of the sexiest yet lethal I'm sure customs I'm seen! Awesome work bro. PS. Beautiful artwork by the way! Thanks for the congrats! And the comments on the art! Sukeban was definitely a passion project for me, I love those "Yankee Girl" movies Japan makes & thought how much fun it would be to create (& fit) a character like that in my MTF-U. Sometimes (& I understand) that people will overlook new characters as they don't recognize them, so it's so cool that you took a liking to her & that she has been so well received by all you guys here! I really appreciate it! Last edited by Steel Brigade; 06-28-2021 at 08:33 PM.. |

Haha, every weekend when an entire new batch of recruits is posted I’m surprised. Your ability to keep pumping these out is beyond impressive. Especially as you get more and more into obscure versions / characters.
————— Really cool build for Crankcase. I still need to open my Retro Collection one to see how he stacks up to the 25th. Love that you managed to stretch the straps over the vest. Gives the unique look that you are always great at finding. Agent X is a really awesome artic character. Love the backstory as well! The red parts really pop well off the white Marauder figure. Great seeing it with the BM custom, they do come up with some cool designs. Great build and jacket for the Monkey Wrench! Always think about some of the latter year versions of them but haven’t attacked any yet outside of the toxic Zartan. Awesome idea to use the fabric jacket. Takes me back to when Pee-Wee’s gray jacket would be used when my Joe’s went undercover. Have to dig into the two female figures later.....getting called away from the iPad. Haha. I appreciate your feedback on the 3 male characters buddy! Guys like you keep me wanting to always do my best! Glad I can still prove to be innovative or at least give a surprise or two after 250 MTF figures! The Pee-Wee story is funny! Hope you come back to drop your thoughts on the new girls when you have a chance! ;-) Hi Awol, yes I have done 2 Sgt. Savages in this thread, the original from Screaming Eagles, & the Cryo-Freeze one. #113, & #186. Both under the name "Rampage" I also have plans for 1 more probably before the 300 mark... ;-) |

I found 113, but 186 doesn't come-up in any searches...

I have a U.S. WW II helmet on one of my figures (without the strap on the front) and can't figure-out which side is the front or back. |

H&R has arrived! Always a highlight when you drop in pal. You know, I am always working 3 batches ahead of what I drop here, so the next one is already ready to go & 2 more are in the working stages, and this does not include any of the figures who are finished & still need new MTF Heads! LOL!!!!!!

Hope you come back to drop your thoughts on the new girls when you have a chance! ;-) Haha, I think the GI JOE version of Blanka from Street Fighter 2 got the most use out of Pee-Wee’s jacket, haha. He was always going undercover in that gray jacket. Probably inspired by my trench coat Ninja Turtle figures and my desire to use that Blanka figure all the time. ————— Okay......I never saw that color scheme for Helix before! I think I have a casted head of her so might be making this one or doing a 90’s spin on her. Really loved the character from the original figure and the game. Think she was in one of the comics I read as well. She turned out great! Nailed her color scheme with the various Val parts. Love the drop down thigh straps on the Val build and that head is perfect! She’s not messing around with those hand cannons either! Looks like she’s wielding two of Robo-Cop’s guns! Haha. Those gunrunners are in for a world of hurt, gonna be a lot of bandaids added to the wall! Love the artwork too! Don’t think I saw any of your drawings before so really cool to see, great look for her. Sukeban is badass! Super cool build and nice homage to your collection. That is a great looking head, sculpt and paint job are perfect. Then you did a great job recreating the schoolgirl look with a tougher edge. Love that she went for the metal bat I had in fourth grade! Baseballs really pinged off that thing so I imagine it would work well on skulls as well! Think the only one of those types of movies I have is Machine Girl which I bought but never watched. Seeing your love of the genre, might finally give me the push to throw it in one day. Great stuff as always!

Lmao, I don’t know how you do it! Between the searching for characters, write ups and builds.....massively impressed because you are like clockwork. Looking forward to this weekend’s batch!

Great stuff as always! That's funny about Blanka, I liked that figure too growing up. So glad you like the new Helix/Spiral, the original is my fave ROC figure & yet I feel I did bring something new here to my Universe to make an exciting addition, & she was a long time coming (planning-wise)... ...so I appreciate the kind words on the build & that you read the bio! I wish I could do more art these days but sadly time has been a factor lol. Looking fwd to what you come with for your Helix! ;-) With Sukeban the metal bat was my 1st choice, I also have a katana for her but did not take a pic of her with it. Sukeban characters often use bats, pipes, & swords in the movies (unless it's Sukeban Deka then you have fun stuff like yoyos), but yeah... I really love this one & look forward to showing you guys what else I have coming in the next couple waves! "Machine Girl" is a GREAT guilty pleasure grindhouse movie. Directed by Noboru Iguchi, my favorite Japanese director. My only word of warning is it's extremely gory, so take that into consideration when viewing. ;-) |

*Possibly NSFW... Ha ha yeah man it's a good time! It was remastered recently on BD as "The Machine Girl: Jacked"... https://www.amazon.com/Machine-Girl-Jacked-Definitive-Blu-ray/dp/B07XLVMZTV/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=machine+girl&qid=1625 530076&sr=8-2 For the best version on DVD, I recommend "Ultimate Machine Girl" (as it has the most bonus materials)... https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Machine-Three-Disk-Widescreen-Collectors/dp/B00393SG2E/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=machine+girl&qid=1625 530114&sr=8-3 These are both the same movie, despite various names... Also, there is a Machine Girl reboot that I equally love that came out in 2020 called "Burst Machine Girl" (aka "Rise Of The Machine Girls.") It is only available in Japan (untranslated/region 2 btw)... This one stars Tak Sakaguchi (Versus) & Himena Tsukimiya (Red Blade) who I am a BIG fan of... Here is a sample of my "Burst Machine Girl" Collection... ;-) Last edited by Steel Brigade; 07-05-2021 at 08:25 PM.. |
