#184/X11. POISON RAT (CAVALIER VERSION) (based on GI Joe ARAH "Tunnel Rat - Sonic Fighters")

After the new Asian skin tone colorways were released, I knew that I wanted to revisit Tunnel Rat. The prospect of recreating the Sonic Fighters version was most exciting to me due to the cool color way, so taking queues from both the classic figure and the prior MGR build with my own touches made for great updated recreation!

POISON RAT was instrumental in getting survivors to safety during the Armageddon War of 20XX. His prior military career, expertise in guerilla warfare & his superior hand-to-hand combat fighting ability above (and below) the ground made him an ideal recruit for the newly formed MTF. In this ever challenging environment, much of the populous has been moved underground & is in hiding. POISON RAT has become essential in moving and fighting with the MTF and also getting civilians through the underground networks during times of trouble as smoothly as possible!

#185/X12. EXODUS (based on GI Joe VS. Cobra "Overkill '03 aka v2")

Inspired one night while taking in some of the DIC GI Joe animated series & looking to add more baddies to my ranks, Overkill was now in my sights! One of my brothers had thought I made one a while back when I made the Skull Squad Trooper homage, so I mentioned to him that I had not, but was a good way to start thinking about actually recreating Overkill. He played a big part in the DIC animated series & I also thought many of his figures over the years were cool. The original figure this is based on is kind of a turquoise color, but like the Joe Club, I went with green for the body because I think it separates him more from the average Cobra Troops. Mostly a parts bin build, I was pretty excited how he turned out when combing both the black & gunmetal exo-suit parts!

EXODUS is one of the 4 CYBORG KINGS of the new world order. Created by ARBCO Labs as a "robot with human looks & emotions" he was a prototype made from a dying soldier who was suffering & wished to live again. The direction of the experiment quickly changed when ARBCO'S maniacal founder MASTERMIND was brought over in secret by the US government to start developing the technology purely for military means. Upon release, EXODUS was an elite cybernetic squad leader that eventually became too powerful and survived the wars by the talents of his creators programming along with the soldier inside's will to live, eventually exceeding all expectations. The US government ordered the termination of the project after the Armageddon Wars ended, but EXODUS survived the order & thrived as a unstoppable new ruler, as quickly as the United Nations fell. After his recapture & reintroduction to the current world, he is actually controlled like a puppet by his hidden creator MASTERMIND, who keeps the cyborg's former emotions in check, yet rules with a "literal" iron fist!

Overkill is fantastic - but I was caught off guard by just how good your Air Raid was. Super solid figure. Works as a really nice Barrel Roll as well.

Good stuff, as usual. That Recondo really pops and Air Raid is a great translation.

I’m not much of a nitpicker, but why not khaki pants on Poison Rat?

LOL! You know what, I thought the pants were green when looking on Yo Joe! (never had that version of T-Rat as a kid), but doing a google search I can see that they are in fact khaki/tan! Thanks for pointing that out bro, & as you can see, I fixed it already! ;-) It's a good swap too, because I have plenty of khaki/tan pants in the parts bin to use & can use the green on another upcoming new recruit! :-)

Thanks! The name Aerozar comes from the 1987 "Air Raiders" line, so I thought that was a cool name when looking for a replacement code name for "Air Raid." ;-)
