Thanks boss! He's my personal fave of this batch too!
Thanks man! Quote:
LOL! Glad you like him! You are right! But I think I will wait till I can finish Skull Hawk (with that new MGR mohawk head on the horizon) & then do a full S.T.O.P. VS. S.C.U.M. pic! ;-) Thanks, I appreciate it! =) Quote:
You nailed Short Fuse! I just love the Originals and Short Fuse was one of my favorites despite his admittedly plain uniform.
I actually like the Night Force Muskrat better than the original. I will definitely be using your formula when I make my Muskrat. I had actually forgotten about that version of Pathfinder and had to go back to Yojoe to look him up. A very underrated version of him, but much more combat appropriate. Great build! Okay, your Mace is absolutely inspired. I love him! Awesome job. Wonderful out-of-the-box thinking with his launcher set-up. Unlike the original, your Mace will not be immediately decapitated at the first missile launch. Wow! Thanks for all the feedback Rob! I hope you do make NF Muskrat! I agree on Pathfinder! And thanks so much on Mace! I laughed when I read your "decapitated" comment! lol Quote:
Patriot is great. Using the big pouch in the top holes give that vest a really cool new look! Always innovating with your accessorizing!
... I wouldn’t have done Pathfinder nearly as well as you did! Love the main build and the 86 vest works perfectly for him.....but the arm & weapon rig! Brilliant! I was thinking I probably didn’t need to do this version, even though I always loved Pathfinder growing up but your version changes my mind. Definitely one I’ll be copying fairly closely. Love it! You Short-Fuze works really well and like you said, with the complex customs or things we are all making a lot of the time, it’s always fun to just scale back and do a simple but highly effective build. He looks great, can’t really top what you did there. Muskrat is another perfect build! I’m fine with my Club version but your Marauder build improves on it in every way! Would love to see a pic of him on the skimmer board if you have it. Haha, much like Blue Bazooka & Col Courage, DEF Mace is another I made very early in my kitbashing days.....your version shows how he should be done! He’s incredible. Love the build and then how you created his helmet and weapon is phenomenal. I always loved DEF Muskrat & Mace growing up and definitely need good versions in my modern collection so I love seeing how awesome yours came out. Great job as always! Sweet! I got 5 out of 5 from Mr H!***** I'm so glad you always come back for more! I've finished a couple more figures, & hope to have 1 (maybe 2) more batches of "new recruits" up before the end of the year! Mail has been all over the place lately & I have been getting later figures in before earlier ordered figures, even though they are shipped in correct order sequence! lol... as always, more to come! Amazing work! So much imagination and creativity here. I had no idea how customizable modern Joes had become. I just made my first custom, Covergirl. Maybe I’ll post her and try some more, inspired by your thread. Thanks for sharing.

*rubs eyes and does a double take*
Dude, how have I not mentioned how awesome your last batch is on the here???!!! Freaking fantastic group and so many great part choices. NF Muskrat is a definite winner and I love that Mace update! I don’t remember seeing a Pathfinder in that version growing up but I like it.

I don’t remember seeing a Pathfinder in that version growing up but I like it. With the Post Office being wacky right now, I have a lot of orders out in the wild! But I have around 9+ figures completed now & a bunch more in the development stages. I also have a lot of updated backlog figures that I need to take new pics of, as I always try to update my builds when improved parts choices become available! With that said...2021 will bring a lot more NEW RECRUITS!!!!! |

NEW YEAR = NEW RECRUITS!!!!!
#181. AEROZAR (based on GI Joe ROC "Air Raid") Marauder Task Force Origin: USA Season 6 Air Raid was a candidate for leftover parts using both the new chimera colored contract-ops legs & reissue of the security-ops body. The color scheme is very much like the scheme used through out most of the ROC figures and when working on him it was fun getting the gear together as the figure is basically a repainted Resolute Duke (flight pack). The Hank head looks a bit like the amalgam head that's on the original figure - that was more based on Channing Tatum them the look of the animation. I thought the gray WW2 German belt/pockets looked good for the parachute replacement & also giving him the jet pack to represent his Fire Bat repaint. I enjoyed the original and am happy with how my remake turned out. AEROZAR was hand picked by SGT. SLATE to be the quick response air assault specialist. A master at flying his "Sky Sweeper" jet pack & an excellent shot, AEROZAR can make quick work of any forward aerial attackers. He has worked with both SGT. SLATE & DUTCH in the past on numerous missions that demand the ultimate degree in high intensity fast-paced flight action. He's a bit high-strung, but AEROZAR'S quick thinking has helped save the MTF on numerous occasions with daring heroics. He's always had a bit of a crush on ATHENA but as she is a commanding officer this has never been acknowledged. Last edited by Steel Brigade; 01-11-2021 at 10:49 AM.. |

#182. BRUJO (based on Larry Hama's Fury Force character "Brujo.")
Marauder Task Force Origin: Mexico Season 2 I thought about Brujo for a long time... mostly his color scheme. His 1 art character design looks like a cross between Cutter & Breaker, but he's Mexican according to his bio blurb, so I needed to distance his colors a bit from the two aforementioned (similar) characters. For the longest time I thought I was going to make him a green & yellow scheme, and use a different parts build... But as time went on and I thought about him more, I realized that I needed to continue to distance him from a "green" scheme, as the only Fury Force customs I have ever seen online had the team in all green, which is great, but that's not what I wanted to do for my interpretation, so I thought about how the Fury Force logo is red & black, & how about using that combo to make a more visually interesting character. I like how he turned out & now I only have 1 Fury Force member "Shadow" (which will require one of the new upcoming MGR heads) left to go to complete the team! BRUJO (who's code name means "Wizard" in Spanish) is FURY'S communication expert. Called out from the reservists for the special "Tokyo Dark" mission, he was needed to decipher the unusual way that the Gunrunners would communicate with both the Yakuza, Night Shinobi, & the Sky Ninjas, as they were using a variety of both modern and old world communication/code methods. He's the "funnyman" of the group, always cracking jokes and adding unnecessary sarcasm with his dialogue. Last edited by Steel Brigade; 01-11-2021 at 10:53 AM.. |

#183. BOSCAGE (based on GI Joe Valor VS. Venom "Recondo (Desert Coyote driver '05")
Marauder Task Force Origin: USA Season 7 MGR has offered Recondo numerous times as a "geared-up" figure, but the mismatching tones always prevented me from pulling the trigger. I wanted to build a version of him without having to paint but still using all Marauder parts, since there is only one MGR mustache head as of now (& I kind of feel it's integral to the character), we needed to get rid of the mis-matched neck with some covering as that's where I feel the paint/vs plastic really stands out. Looking for ways of using my parts-bin-tan-parts I came across the Desert Coyote version of Recondo on Yo Joe. Putting him together I think this might be the 1st custom I have seen of this version, and I think I found a way to bring together a unique take on the character to finally add to my MTF ranks! BOSCAGE is a bit of a legend, everyone's heard of him but nobody ever sees him. He was sent to Grendel Island months ago as an outside scout on both the jungle & island's beaches to gather intel on the day-to-day runnings of the Experimental Labs stationed there. He has reported back seeing nightmare creatures tested & disposed of, as well as many from the Gunrunners rogues gallery present on the island, led by the extremist SCORPIO. With his time in hideing there, BOSCAGE has mapped the most strategic point of entry and will meet up with VINDICATOR, BRAWN, & the rest of the first strike team to get the jump on the Gunrunners final fortress! |
