#141 PIPELINE (based on ARAH GI Joe "Rock 'N Roll - Super Sonic Fighter")

Rock 'N Roll is another parts bin build where I made use of the extra green t-shirts I have! He was created sometime ago, but due to a couple of missteps made by MGR when I received my order for what I still needed, I couldn't complete him. One of my brother's has praised me for doing some 90's neon Joes, (no official orange bandoliers? Well make a close approximation by filling the ports in with orange gear!) ...To me my MTF Universe was created around obscure versions & this version of good ole' RnR fit right in! We had the original '89 colored one growing up, & I also bought the Club's more comic colored homage, so when thinking of making my own remake, this version made sense to me on many levels. I have plans to most likely do at least (maybe two) more versions of him down the line.

PIPELINE grew up riding waves and playing guitar in a surf band. He enlisted in the Navy Seals but couldn't get past the "holding his breath for 2-3 minutes" test. Disillusioned by his failure, & longing for direction, he was doing odd jobs & even homeless for a period of time. He got back on his feet with the help of his friends, and WARHAWK took notice of him when visiting a California shooting range while on vacation, & asked him to join the precursor to the MTF Team. He later became a reservist & part-time tattoo artist when he got the call of duty from WARHAWK that a sharpshooter was needed for the overseas mission to Moldova. A master of artillery & various weapons, PIPELINE (who takes his code name from the surf instrumental by "The Chantays") was eager to get back in the game.

Another figure that's been sitting on my work table for awhile waiting for parts lol. I saw the potential in the nice-priced "Night Fighter" offered during the "Geared-Up" summer offerings, but felt more could be done to bring out the spirit of the original ARAH Night Viper in a modern MTF update! So I changed the helmet, web gear & made a few add-ons to make a Night Viper more to my specs!

SPECTRAL TROOPERS are the leading legions of the Gunrunners cloaked night fighters! They have a complete 360 view in pitch black & their specially made synthetic suits drown out their own heat signatures. Experts at long range firing and hand to hand combat, the SPECTRAL TROOPERS have been brought in as the night defense for ONSLAUGHT'S secret nuclear trade meeting to stop any unwanted guests, & are under the command of MEISTER!

#143 DUTCH (NCO FIRST SERGEANT VERSION) (based on ARAH Duke)

Even though I had MGR's original NCO release, & this one may seem a redundant purchase, I thought it improved quite a bit from their 1st version with the newly colored dress shirt. For this one I swapped out the "Trooper" head for the "Hank" head because although the "light brown" haired trooper head looks good most of the time (even if you have flesh showing arms, once that head meets a flesh colored neck, it doesn't match at all, and I dislike the non-matching skin tones, so I thought (like others) the Hank head was the best replacement look/head to match the tones.

DUTCH has been assigned to be at one of the 3 meeting points for SLATE to bring in the mobile command center for refueling, restocking, and further strategic planning. He has worked well with SLATE in the past and wanted to have a role of this momentous mission. Now having become one of the most active commanders on the MTF team, he has returned to his trade mark look that many refer to as his "glory days," where he beat the enemy, escaped death, & was a prisoner of war and broke out more times than any of his former (or current) team members can count!

#144 LONG ARM & LUPIN (MARAUDER MP VERSION) (based on ARAH Law & Order *animation colors*)

This one was in the works for sometime once MGR showed they had "red t-shirt" contract-ops coming. I had assembled some of the pieces I needed in advance to the release, but then when MGR dropped their MP Marauder figure as part of the "Geared-Up" Saturdays, it was too good to pass up! I had not quite decided on a vest for him for my version, but then really liked with the MGR team did with theirs, showing off the new blue colored utility vest & other new blue add-ons. I changed out the head for the better fitting "Logan" head & most of the waist down to make a Law more to my liking (even though the fatigues should probably be green like the toy, the olive color can make them look brown like what MGR did). When I used their brown dog for my first version of Mutt, I knew that I was going to go with the GI Joe Movie colors for Order to make him different. ;-)

When on the Tokyo Black mission, LONGARM worked a lot with MONGREL and his K9 team & was very impressed with both the bond & valiance of the animals to their masters. Upon his return to the USA he asked to start K9 training with MONGREL and was promoted to the military police division of the MTF. He has quickly bonded with his assigned dog LUPIN & the two have become inseparable. On their first long-term mission, they have been assigned with MONGREL to the Mobile Command Center's multi-country trip as added security. LONGARM will tell you that LUPIN gets along with every MTF member, except BRIDGEHEAD, he hates BRIDGEHEAD.

#145 LATCHKEY (PHANTOM FORCE VERSION) (based on Devil's Due GI Joe comics Volga)

I had plans on doing this version of Volga. along with the original toy version (which I have already done) & got inspired to make her next iteration official when combining parts from my bin one night lol. The Club had done a homage to this version that I did not buy, but looked great... for my own take I used the comic art as the biggest inspiration & rather enjoy the color combo on the finished project.

After the mission in Moldova, an alliance was formed, & 5 members of WASP have become secret liaisons for the MTF in their respective countries. LATCHKEY, MISERY, RED HAMMER, BADGER, & CLOCK OUT have all signed up for secret ops missions with the MTF as a force for justice against terrorism. For LATCHKEY'S first very dangerous MTF mission, she is undercover as the enemy (an underground sect of WASP) joining the nuclear arms trade meeting headed by ONSLAUGHT. Her cover works because she is mostly unrecognizable as a WASP known ranked soldier, as well as the fact that WASP is frequently at odds with the MTF. Her mission is to gather as much intel on the enemies at large at this trade meeting, their secret locations, & interest level/purchasing power in illegal nuclear arms. While the rest of PHANTOM FORCE get ready for an ambush to capture some of the most dangerous usurpers in the world!
