#125 CHECKMATE (based on ARAH "Skymate")
Marauder Task Force

Season: 7

I have a lot of left over contract-ops green t-shirts lol, so I made an effort to try and purpose them all, and have found successful assignments for more "New Recruits!" The first is recreating Air Commando's Skymate! Taking cues from both the classic version & the Club's release, and mostly made of parts from my bins, (the aforementioned green t-shirt, the legs, hips, & red 43 field cap) - and then by adding some final touches... imho... I think he came out great! I'm on my 3rd use of the yellow harnesses now... that nobody probably thinks they can use 3 times & still make it work for more new characters lol!

CHECKMATE grew up wealthy and went to prestigious schooling overseas in Europe. His friends were always into superheroes but he liked more classical and grounded heroes like "Robin Hood" instead, & was influenced by those storybook tales. He could have competed at a national level at both chess (where he takes his code name from, & is also his favorite catchphrase) & archery, but decided he wanted to travel the world doing some good with the military instead. He trained in exotic weaponry & traditional stealth flight tactics. His precise marksmanship was noticed by the MTF and he was recruited recently for the mission "Wild Strike" & is looking to make an impression on those that may see him as a "soft rich kid!"

Always fun checking out your MTF Universe SB, your builds and adjusted geared-up builds are fantastic and a great reference source to use to create or re-purpose some of my own MTF...keep it up!!

Thanks for saying that Itch! I think about the bios a bit after I create the character online in my cart - then think about how they can fit within my greater story line. When I start posting the pics here, I kind of let my mind run with it lol. It takes a couple hours from taking the pics to actually making the 5 posts each time - So I'm glad that you & others actually take the time to read the bios too, I think they're fun!

Man, you beat me to it; I have a Skymate in the works, too (I need to paint the mustache I sculpted and the green straps on the thighs still)! Yours is very cool, and the t-shirt was a great idea! The good thing is that ours will look very different, yet both are easily recognizable as the character! Great work, and thanks for sharing!

#126 VINDICATOR (WILD STRIKE VERSION - based on the coloration of ARAH "Tiger Force Flint")

I've had long running ideas that would add "Flint" to my MTF Universe, and planned on making the Sunbow version as his first entry... but the parts I want to use have not come in the colors I want (just yet.) After seeing shakka85's AWESOME Flint build I was inspired to get him into the ranks sooner than later by mostly getting a "part's bin" build together! His first incarnation taking visual ques from his Tiger Force look! I always want Flint to look rugged, & I thought this combo of parts definitely achieves that look! There will be more versions of him to come...

VINDICATOR was one of the commanding officers in the earliest incarnations of the the Marauder Task Force. When the team was decommissioned he married his long-time love & team-mate code named SPARROW, and the 2 went into semi-retirement only coming off on secret "Special Missions" requested by the top brass. Their last mission together ended badly with SPARROW disappearing during a weapons trafficking deal gone sour off the coast of Brazil. Investigations could not find a body so the Military has declared her MIA. But after years of searching & no further evidence found, most have concluded that she was captured and murdered at sea with the body being dumped. VINDICATOR, due to his failure & lost love went into a reclusive retirement & has not been heard from in years. But SPARROW'S close friend RAMPAGE has been using his MTF missions to investigate her disappearance, and finally thinks he has a solid lead that she is a prisoner on the mysterious Grendel Island. RAMPAGE contacted VINDICATOR & due to his outstanding past record got him back as field commander on MISSION: WILD STRIKE, replacing BRIDGE HEAD as first in command.
