I am a big fan of the copycat style figures, I used to always get a good mix of them from my grandparents & aunts/uncles along with the high profile stuff over the childhood holidays! ;-)

LOL! Thanks bro! Yeah I still have some of those old Remco figures from when I was a kid! That's why you see them included occasionally in my MTF Universe, the ones I had/liked or still have! I even have his original helmet and got one of the WWII ones that is like it for my "Ultimate" version...I think I'm the only guy that makes an "Ultimate Bazooka Bob!" lol I may have a couple more Commando Ranger homage figures & such down the line... ;-)

I would love to find the time to do something like that! As it is I just want to update my avatar with artwork of one of my MTF Universe characters... I'd also love to do a Squad 87Z splash page style image... Thanks for your enthusiasm as always bud!

As I continue to push through my MTF Universe & investigate more of the main characters of GI Joe, I strive to continue to try and do more of the obscure versions over it's history. For my first Hawk homage (& it won't be my last lol), I saw a great opportunity to use the new WWII catalog to recreate the more vintage military look of his 2004 release!

*The "Nigel" head reminds me a bit of Dennis Quaid so that's what I went with here.

When ATHENA was assembling the team to investigate the secret base found in Moldova, she knew that W.A.S.P. would be involved in the proposed alien arms race. With that in mind (and having the MTF spread to all parts of the world), she counted on using some of the MTF Reservists that have had experience in dealing with versions of W.A.S.P. over the past decades, a group she nicknamed the "MTF OG." First in her selection was the former general, commander, & friend of her former team, WAR HAWK. His experience is legendary, his negotiation skills solid, and his battle tactics proven time & time & again. Although he has grown weary of the current military climate, he accepted the mission as he knows how important any kind of unknown technology can be to the "good guys." He requested his team be a squad of soldiers he has worked with in the past, and to avoid easy detection that they are equipped with more "old world gear," that will help them be more stealthy than an overload of tech.
