#86 RAINMAKER (based on the Remco Commando Ranger "Bazooka Bob")

Anybody remember waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy back in Season 1 when I mentioned RAINMAKER in *SPECIAL OPERATION UNDERGROUND IDOL* in both MASKED MARAUDER & RED KAMEN'S bios? Bonus points if you do because he is finally here! I don't know how many of you read the bio blurbs that I write, but I wanted to create this guy earlier on, as he was actually #44 on my master list of 150+ figures. I could just never settle on the build I wanted, as initially he was going to be similar to Blue Lagoon (also being based on a Commando Ranger figure,) Then when the WWII Asian heads were announced, I decided to hold off on him until their release so I could get more of the look I wanted for him & create kind of an "ultimate version." I'm glad I did, as I think the final build turned out pretty cool in the end.

*It should be noted on this figure that the combo of parts used for assembly: upper body is WWII, the waist is Contract-Ops, and the legs are MTF Trooper.

RAINMAKER is high on a long list of the MTF's most wanted. Nobody knows quite where he comes from but it is said that he heralds from a rich family & prestigious schooling in south Asia, with most operations coming from his secret location somewhere in Korea. As an adult he got into the weapons trade that mostly involved high end WWII paraphernalia, known as having some of the best in the world, particularly from Japan, Germany, & the USA. Charismatic as a sales titan, he will often dress in WWII regalia to help "sell the wares." He has close ties with BLUE LAGOON & the 2 have worked together with exports & imports of stolen items from throughout history to all over the world. RAINMAKER has been known as the last stop for many when it comes to collecting & is a distinguished underground collector himself with a collection that rivals the best in WWII military goods. He is also a known pervert & has had his hand in the Asian youth slave trade. While indulging in a private showing when his Korean sect of the Gunrunners visiting Japan for a 3-day Female Idol festival using their own Korean idols as a cover to traffick weapons to Nigerian buyers, a sting operation was setup using 3 MTF reserve Japanese operatives. It was under this mission that RAINMAKER was captured & imprisoned & has been working his loose ties since with the Japanese Yakuza to cut a deal for his freedom.

#87 SECRET AGENT STRIKER (based on ARAH "LT. Gorky '06")

Continuing my Oktober Guard recreations with the 2nd version of LT. Gorky! It should be noted that I used the Deluxe German Solid Gray Armyman for this build!

SECRET AGENT STRIKER is the man that won't die. He's had so many close calls & survived nearly unscathed that COMMANDER RED HAMMER always calls him in for joint missions. His father, his father's father, & his father's father's father, all served the UK secret service and retired with the highest honors. He's precise, unyielding, & legendary. Everyone thinks that he models himself after James Bond (with a military edge,) but he tells them that the James Bond stories are modeled after his families exploits!

#88 LATCHKEY (based on ARAH "Volga")

Origin: Czech Republic
Season: 4

Completing another character who was on my master list ALL THE WAY BACK as far as #19 @_@ comes my version of Volga! It's funny when this figure was originally available at retail back in the day, I remember that I wanted to buy the 3-pack, but kept passing on it, as I liked the idea of Volga, but didn't find the figure sculpt overall particularly appealing, even if it was a similar look to Lady Jaye, so I just never bought it. Flash forward to 2017 and I knew I really wanted to make her part of my MTF Universe. I kept putting off this character though because I was always going back & forth about her build, (you would be surprised sometimes how a labor over the recreation of this stuff lol) taking some cues from other customs I saw, & what would work best for my interpretation. When I committed to recreating a MTF Oktober Guard I knew she was going to be a part of my 8-10 member team. I consider her a different character than Daina, even if many don't or officially it was intended to be the same character. I think her design is different enough that she stands apart from Daina's interpretations so in my MTF Universe she is a unique personality!

LATCHKEY takes her name from how she grew up, a "Latchkey Kid," coming home to an empty big house where the TV often babysat her. Unknown to her, her parents were working a deep secret operation for the Czech Secret Service & were eventually discovered & killed. Now orphaned, the Secret Service then sent for her and began a training operation to make her a secret agent herself, under the guise of a boarding school. Currently she is the newest member of W.A.S.P., replacing a another comrade at the last minute, she was equipped with some ill-fitting gear by the team, but is optimistic about her new military "family."

#89 EVAC (based on ARAH "Lifeline")

Another case of Marauder offering "kit" figures for a great price. This "Lifeline" build is actually made from their "Rescue Ops" Male Trooper (with MTF stickers & MTF additional parts) rather than the cool "Medic" figure they also offered. I like the similar build I made & feel it represents the 1st release of Lifeline well with a modern update!

EVAC was on the original B.E.T. mission that saw the mutant uprising from the spore virus years ago. When DUTCH was putting together his new rescue team, EVAC was his first choice for combat medic as he had been developing a vaccine still for the virus since the 1st encounter years ago & finally thinks he has the cure. He is hoping to test it on a subject ASAP!

#90 LOCKDOWN (based on ARAH DTC "Airtight '08")

Season: 3

Airtight was one of my 1st 10 Joes as a kid because I loved those "cool looking mask guys" lol. The inspiration for this one came from seeing a custom online that used a more tan color scheme instead of the yellow that looked either like a Desert Ops version or was in a hostile environment. It inspired me to do this MTF take on Airtight, more looking like his DTC version from 2008, but with that darker color palette! Like he's surrounded in that GI Joe The Movie Mutant Spore Smoke lol! For this build I tried to replicate the look of Airtight but with some creative license!

LOCKDOWN is part of the rescue team put together by DUTCH, his mission is to gather a sample of the spore dust that is mutating the locals and bring it back for EVAC to test. It might be the most dangerous mission of all, but LOCKDOWN is a prepared for the worst!






I don't know about you guys, but when Marauders comes out with new gear, or if I revisit a character on the shelf, sometimes I will update the characters... so I recently gave:
MEGACLUTCH new pants
BLAZE the new "Fritz" head that looks more like ARAH Crossfire + cloth arms + hands
BUSHMASTER the new "Aussie" hat
& KUREHA the blue sword set!
