At first fitting in the new WWII catalog into my MTF Universe was a bit of a challenge. But then I figured once I could familiarize myself with the online catalog I would find homages that were just the right fit! The German Soldier red body works perfectly for my Red Shadow tribute!

CHAOS GUARD are the elite body guards of MAJOR MAYHEM. Although now serving as members of the GUNRUNNERS, the CHAOS GUARD (in various forms and names) have had a long history in protecting evil's elite since as long ago as WWII. As such, MAJOR MAYHEM likes them to have a more classic visual appearance in their fatigues, showing a prestige of their long lineage as upstarts over many generations hired to serve and protect some of history's most notorious characters. Fueled by mindless devotion and considered the best of the the GUNRUNNERS "Reds" they are more than a match for most Task Force missions!

#82 RED HAMMER (based on GI Joe 25th Anniversary '08 Red Star)

I love Red Star. I thought the 25th Anniversary figure was one of the best of the line. I love that figure so much that I even have the cancelled version from 2009 (that maybe the superior of the two.) With that said, I knew that when the MTF WWII kickstarter figures were landing on the site that Red Star would be making my MTF Universe. The figure practically made itself!

After a severe land slide in Moldova, what appears to be a secret base from the WWII era was uncovered. The Moldova high command has little interest in this relic but reached out to it's former allies to investigate. A group of 8 experts from various countries that were aligned in the Warsaw Pact have been dispatched as a team code named "W.A.S.P." (*Warsaw Allegiance Strike Patrol) lead by commander RED HAMMER. The rumors (if to be believed), are that this was a secret base that was used to uncover alien technology during & after the WWII era, & that it had been lost due to a tragic coverup of the facilities occupants. Russia is interested in the conspiracy and immediately put W.A.S.P. to work. The commander in charge is code named "RED HAMMER," who is a bit of a curiosity among the ranks. He bears a striking resemblance to the former commander before him and yet declares there is no relation. His tactics are brilliant & he is unbeatable when playing strategy-style games. His jokes are odd & often are about pop-culture references that seem almost like pre-programmed humor. Rumors have swirled that he is actually a clone of the former original team's commander, that was created by a Russian military cloning program as the 1st successful super soldier. He has requested that the soldiers under W.A.S.P. dress in a classic display of dignity & pride, showing both past glory & that they mean business, but will not strike (unless provoked), in case they run into any adversaries. He is ultimately hoping for a peaceful resolution between all parties involved. Tension between the United States and Russia has been high, so under no circumstances is RED HAMMER going to allow the U.S.A. deployed MTF team to attain the secret technology first... he has his orders.

#83 BADGER (based on ARAH '93 Big Bear)

When listing out who I would create for my new former Soviet based W.A.S.P. team (formerly the Oktober Guard) all the parts were there to make a great Big Bear homage. I usually like to go for the more obscure versions, as well as versions that were not offered in the modern era when creating my MTF Universe, so I opted for the black rather than the green!

BADGER gets his code name from the same "don't care" attitude as the animal. He does not like his teammates and they don't like him, he also detests other nations getting into what he considers "is in the greater good for mother Russia." He's nasty, & hoping for a grizzly fight with the MTF when they arrive, because he likes them even less. He is not usually sent on recovery missions, but his tracking skills in this remote part of Moldova are needed, and he is the very best. The mission will be ground based as it is very difficult to land any aircraft at the secret base's rough terrian, so BADGER will also be handling the land transport until they need to travel by foot.
