490. OLD SNAKE (based on the Transformers G1 Season 3 character "Old Snake aka Cobra Commander" 1986 *Episode 23* "Only Human" + TFCC 2015 figure)

Remember that episode of Transformers that Cobra Commander was on? Me too! I wanted to make this figure right off the bat when the MGR Chrome Visor head's were released, as I already had the trench coat & spare parts to make him! I did get the Club's version from 2015, but I love me some soft goods, & after nearly 10 years, that figure could use an update! I kept thinking someone on Facebook etc. would beat me to making this one, especially since I've held on to him for months now, but I think this is the very first MGR build I've seen of this fan favorite version!

BIO: The man known as MASTERMIND likes to go undercover when he travels from the Wrath's Master Space Station to the "Wet World" & often dons the outfit of a "man for hire" to avoid his true leader status. Going by "OLD SNAKE", he often likes to oversee his operations from a distance, either alone or with a small entourage, some never knowing if it's truly him or a proxy, but all are surprised by his arrival!

Back to characters I recognize! I think I’m gonna follow suit on some of these Red shadows characters, love the Shockwave Star Brigade (we need to do any and all unreleased Star Brigade figures). And Old Snake is rad. Wish I had a few of those trench coats

Love the Red Shadow homage is awesome. I didn't even realize they had unreleased figures from that line. I too can't wait for the Eagle Force figures.

Earthquake is just a cool looking figure. Reminds me of an early 90s Marvel design as I'm completely unfamiliar with that version of Shockwave.

LOL! Thanks bro! The next few waves will be more recognizable characters as well! Glad you like this wave! I'd love to see some Red Shadows from you. The trench coat is from the Super7 Reaction Terminator Kyle Reese figure, I grabbed a bunch of them back when I made Battle Angel, C.O.P.S. Bulletproof, & Monkeywrench '06, & they are a great open soft goods piece!

Thanks Flint! I only knew about the unreleased Red Shadows figure thanks to a Youtube video. I agree about the Shockwave homage, the prototype has that very unique 90's aesthetic, & as different as the '92 Shockwave is from the '88 version, this is a just a crazy variation of the character & made for a fun build!

Have you included any characters from the American Defense line? I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. They were a Joe knockoff line sold at K-Mart in the 80s. Man I loved that toyline. I've wanted to incorporate some into my Best of project, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

You mentioned Hadji's turban in my thread and how you had plans for it and I immediately thought of a turban wearing bad guy from the American Defense line.

Right on. I thought about grabbing a Dr. Loomis for the trench coat from the Reaction line, but thought it would be too small, but that seems to fit pretty well

That Shad officer is a new one on me. I've seen the SWF figures and there was some other unreleased group I saw when I used to frequent BFTB (Air Force or something?) but I've not seen that one before. Good job as usual though.
