SB what an amazing batch, beautiful work bro! They all standout as being meticulously planned! And I was expecting this drop
Roadblock is a phenomenal build, really like the choice of head and body. The vest and gear are the bomb and sets this figure apart. Super nice. You beat me to it, I've been wanting to use that Avac's RS head for quite some time. You truly nailed that look with the red German soldier body. Great job coloring the eyes by the way. Star Brigade Star Fighter Pilot looks freakin awesome! Never was able to nail the right look using the exo suit so I'll be using this recipe faithfully. There's just so much detail, love it! Neo-Nok Torch has a nice new/fresh look which also explains the use of the word "neo" meaning something new in Greek. You lucked out with this head I'm glad you were able to finish a few pending builds as those 2020 heads started rolling out. Great build! Your version of Arctic Scarlett is unbelievably awesome! That's probably my favorite MGR female head, actually the best factory painted female head ever. Beautifully accessorized built, love how versatile this one is and really digging the crossbow as well. Can't wait for the other Scarlett homage that's in development...curious to see that other head. Great stuff brother, keep them coming!! |

Roadblock‘s colors are a nice blend of ARAH V2 and Classified V1. I like that Sci-Fi a lot, even though there’s no nostalgia as I quit collecting as a kid after the first one came out. Great choice of flames on Scorch’s leg. Also I’m surprised you didn’t get a saber-tooth tiger for Scarlett. Only kidding of course! I was thinking about Lauren Dellapa’s Scarlett only recently, chewing on what it would take to make her. Not only did you make the first custom based on it (that I am aware of), you did a nice job pulling available parts to get the idea across.

As I've said before the bios you do are just top notch. I absolutely love reading those as much as looking at the customs. I was the same way as a kid when I got a new Joe. I always read the file card over and over to learn every nuance of the character. Your writing really helps bring your universe to life.
Oh and Roadblock is my favorite from this group

It's an interesting roll out with the 2020 heads, as I'm guessing MGR must actually have all of them & are just letting them trickle out as not to be overwhelmed with orders. But at the same time it keeps my figure lineups shuffling, as I keep adjusting to include the already made figures-just waiting on those heads, to be a part of the drops asap, as they waited so long for their debut! I think the "Talia" head is my fave female head from the MGR catalog too, I've used it a bunch... But will definitely be continuing the trend of using more unique heads on my ladies going forward. Thanks again pal, there is much more to come! Quote:

^^^ No previews bud, but I'll tell you that a new story line based on a vintage series homage is in the works (that I've wanted to do for sometime) ...& that's what's planned for the "Big 6." ;-)

THANKS as always! Awesome to see you back bro! Yes, you will want to start on page 76 of my thread to get all caught up lol! That's the first Sunrunners wave, & since it's a new story, I think you will enjoy!
I'd like to think I had something to do with his mighty return, as I sent him a pm last month saying that we all missed him! lol And I appreciate the private message! I received a couple of them while I was just super swamped with awesome real world happenings but it was really cool to hear from my Hisstank friends. Definitely missed everyone and I?m hoping to be back on here regularly again to check out the awesome custom work and hopefully get some time to drop some more of my own. ???????? Love Midori?s name, design and her backstory! The Sunrunner are already delivering! Super creative group, as always. That head is so cool and you just always do a great job turning the different color boss fight body parts into fun articles of clothing. Then the jacket and her reasoning for wearing it are both badass! Cheisu.....that design is killer! Then love how it was inspired by different mech toy lines and your work with the Glyos line. The red armor bits for police lights on the shoulders is a brilliant touch! Then I really like how the yellow doubles as vehicle parts while also giving the police colors an extra pop. But he?s not gonna catch Midori! She?s just too smooth! Skull Baus?! We should not have messed with that guy because he?s a Skeletor clad, saw armed bad MFer! Such a cool build with the alien head, saw arm and the clothing accessories. This one had to be so much fun to put together with all of the different cuffs for the wrists & legs, then the cape, waist piece and scarf. Really unique parts all put together but they totally fit seamlessly. Squire is a total badass! Love the futuristic knight look that you went with and then the orange makes the silver / chrome design pop so well. Great helmet and you definitely have me thinking about using some of the medieval weapons for my space guys. Inspired choice. The mixing of future and past reminds me of Peter Tanaka?s e frame from Exo squad and anything that reminds me of Exo Squad I absolutely love! And closing it out with the invader troopers! Being a no paint customizer, you developed such a skill of taking something that should come off as plain but because of how you select the parts and expertly use color breaks, they end up having so much personality to them. Love this guy, he?s the perfect grunt for your alien force. Next up is page 153 for me! Can?t wait! This last group was so much fun to dig into! Always fun to drop in here, my friend. Keep inspiring us with your incredible figure & world building!

^^^ Hey buddy!
Yeah, everyone seems to have different page/load lists so I just went by what I got for you to start with ha ha... For example when I look at this thread on my Desktop, it's page 80, but it's page 159 on my phone... Looking fwd to your grand return to customizing & regular visits right here! XD Midori & Cheisu will play that game of cat & mouse until the sun finally sets on one of them lol! I really appreciate all the effort you put into the feedback, as you meticulously go through my builds. Since Sunrunners is very much inspired by Wheeled Warriors & Exo-Squad (Peter Tanaka for the win!), you are right on point, even if it's more of a love letter than a direct homage... =) ...Also, the next Sunrunners release is bringing in another (90's toy line) inspiration into the fold! Thanks again for checking out the first wave of the Sunrunners story H&R, I am glad it caught your attention! I have more Sunrunners waves planned, one should be before the #400 mark... as I have 2 figures for that done already & 3 in process... Insiders note: I am currently working on the 5 remaining waves left to get to the 400 figure milestone all at once. ;-) I'm looking forward to your next visit/review bro! PS: New Recruits/New Story NEXT weekend to celebrate the 6 year anniversary of this thread! ...the world building continues! ;-) |

Yo buddy! Great figures here.
Roadblock: This is awesome, that head is perfect. I love that story too and I can't wait to read more about it. Crimson Vulture: This one is darn near perfect too. I wish AVAC's was open again. Getaway driver for a notorious gang. That fits very well. Quasar: This one is killer. Loving the helmet. I don't have any of the exo suits but your use of them are always spot on. Scorch: Now a Dreadnok always catches my attention just like a good sword. Nailed this one buddy. Great update to the old figure too. The flame is boss! Athena: The design is great, and the AWOK and BFS parts really do the trick. I have been sitting on that particular head for years, now I have some inspiration. Great work, great homages. You really nailed this batch buddy!
