I have no idea how I missed your Oon tribute, but I laughed when I saw him going back through your thread. Dude, I hated him so much. In my opinion he is the most annoying sidekick of all 80s characters. I know Snarf and T-Bob get bad raps, but Oon got under my skin like no other character. Squire looks great though yet he truly is a recognizable homage to Oon.
You've been on a roll as of late.

Welcome back brother! It's like you showed up just in time lol!!! Yup! We had some Flint_rocks fan service between the Wheeled Warriors homages in November & Skull Hawk finally being finished this month with the rest of January's crew!
All of our fave 80s cartoons usually had an annoying sidekick, not sure who's the worst for me, but I loved making the "Squire"/Oon homage a bulked up fighter in contrast to his cartoon persona... Thanks for checking them out & great to have you back! |

Dude, what a way to receive/celebrate the new year 2023!! Who needs fireworks when we can feel the stunning effect of a new round of SB MGR build/custom awesomeness. Love the colors, the characters and the new custom kits to help reach perfection in all.
I knew a drop of a popular Red Shadows character was imminent & incoming That AVACS kit and German belt couldn't look better with that built, awesome work man. The Red Shadows and Action Force were the first action figures I played with as a kid and Muton was amongst the favorites. Doesn't happen often so it's so much fun to see beautifully executed RS figures as they always bring back good memories. Now I want to see what other characters you plan on introducing!! That Skull Hawk looks fierce and intimidating...and badass and want to replicate this S.T.O.P. vs S.C.U.M. recipe ASAP haha. Really nice concept brother. BFS harness and that groovy mask that fits perfectly by the way covering as much as it should, take this build to the next level! Again, never experimented with the German belt so thank you for showing its versatility. Really like it on the t-shirt look! No doubt the best Lift Ticket custom/build in my book. Accessories/gear/colors are perfectly balanced so yes your tweaks to the already successful geared-up offering makes this even more desirable. Your attention to detail is impeccable so kudos to you for following the original toy's design. You know I love all the lady figures that excel in the business of "violent & sexy" and Giko is no exception!! And YES that no-nonsense attitude hit me in the face the moment I glimpsed on her posing with the chainsaw she gracefully carries around. Another build intelligently & creatively put together, the head being a great choice to inspire the manga look. Love it!! And then you're finishing us off with that awesome badass looking Leatherneck I'd say being patient paid off big time...they say good things come to those who wait and this is a perfect example because that camo is perfection for said character. That noggin for Skull Hawk applies in this case as well. They're like the missing pieces of the puzzle. Still waiting for the Recon-Ops MK-II rolled up sleeves to arrive so I can attempt a Footloose build, though there's some more green to the original look. Anyway, your backpack config is fantastic, just the right amount of pouches that really compliments the build nicely. Definitely the best MGR based custom of Leatherneck I've seen. Beautiful work brother, look forward to seeing what's coming next!!

Beautiful work brother, look forward to seeing what's coming next!! As always you flatter me buddy! =) Great story about you growing up with Action Force, I had know idea! Thanks for sharing! I currently have 2 more Red Shadows characters planned at this time... The German belt is a good one, & I've used it quite a bit, keep in mind since it is fit for the WWII figs that it is a lil' big/loose on the Trooper/Contractor bodies, & filling those ports helps keep a secure fit, so I tend to fill those 6 ports up! Glad you like the Lift-Ticket as much as I do, in following the original a bit more I think he's a show-stopper, one of MGR's best offerings to date, just tweeked a bit! ;-) Giko's body & head skin tone match perfectly despite being from 2 different toy lines & being years/continents apart lol! I had the clear ripped shirt on her for a while which gave her a "wet t-shirt" look, but I really wanted the white version for accuracy, so between the wait on the white, (& then luckily having Avac's specially make me a yellow scarf), she was put on hold since last summer, so I was glad I could finally release her the way I wanted! ...EXACTLY! As you said the missing pieces to the puzzle! I went back & forth on Leatherneck's backpack until I had a fit/function that I liked, with the bullets, canteen, & pouches! Looking fwd to your upcoming Footloose man! Thanks again, I always look forward to your thorough reviews & thoughts on my stuff my good friend! . Muton, red shadows Destro, Leatherneck??dude! Just getting some quick glances, these look fantastic and the builds posted along with them are equally as impressive! Can?t wait to do some real deep dives into your last few waves and get into those story write-ups!
As always, super impressed at how you just keep banging these out and the creativity involved in tying them all into your story!

January seemed like an extra long month between drops, but February has arrived with more NEW RECRUITS!!!!!
WAVE 75 371. ROADBLOCK (based on G.I. Joe ARAH Roadblock '86 & G.I. Joe Classified 01 Roadblock) Marauder Task Force (G.I. Joe) Origin: USA 'NAM 19XX Can you believe I am at nearly 400 figures & this is my first Roadblock homage? Me either lol. Reflecting back, I was avoiding all of the most popular characters at first. Followed by the lack of good head choices for him when I first got rolling... Then when considering Block for "My MTF Universe," I really wanted to do my favorite version of him growing up, the '92 Battle Corps version, which I currently am still cracking the build code on lol. So I finally went with my 2nd favorite version, the '86 for his big debut. There's a little "Classified" 01 Block in there, and I'm glad to finally have the big guy in my ranks! BIO: When GUNG-HO received word that some of his former fellow service men in Eagle Force where not MIA in Vietnam & were actually POWS of a new terrorist group known as CRIMSON MOON, he immediately contacted his 4 best men for a "off-the records" mission that was not approved by G.I. Joe. The men where WILD BILL, LEATHERNECK, & the heavy hitter ROADBLOCK. The gourmet chef was more concerned about making sure his "buddies" got home than the suicide mission itself, so he agreed on the basis that he wanted to keep his eye on the ones he knew were still living... his four-man crew. Calling themselves the "Marauder Task Force," as they are hoping to bring in both friend & foe alike... ROADBLOCK is ready to rescue! |

372. CRIMSON VULTURE (based on Action Force Red Shadows: Red Vulture)
Crimson Moon Origin: ?France? 'NAM 19XX Totally built because I gotta freebie custom head from Avac's. I'm a fan of the sticker and potato mashers, & colored the eyes. Nice to fill another gap in the ever growing Red Shadows collection! BIO: Both merciless & friendless, CRIMSON VULTURE is an ex-get-away driver for a notorious gang from Paris. He then worked odd jobs as a vehicle driver for rogue militia, where he gained the ability to repair just about any vehicular breakdown quickly. While in that service, he also gained expertise in explosives & is familiar with arsenal maintenance. Currently he works as a driver & bodyguard for Crimson Moon Legionnaire. Unlike most of their regime, he is not brainwashed, & is just completely happy with his mercenary paycheck! |
