^^^Nice I can totally see that! And it could make a GREAT head usage for that character (which I made an homage to "Agent Co Phuong Bao" using a different head some years ago) ...but maybe worth a revisit for a build for the upcoming Vietnam line... Thanks for the suggestion!
The head is actually based on Chinese actress "Tang Wei", who is probably best known to audiences outside of China for the film "Lust, Caution." Last edited by Steel Brigade; 09-03-2022 at 05:13 PM.. |

Another great bunch. Really like the characters you're putting together with those exo suits across the board.

Happy Birthday!
Love this latest batch. Great to see the mix-and-match BFS and MTF parts. Loving the heads, too.

Happy Birthday week! And we get the gift of New Recruits and a #350 milestone! Haha, can?t believe you are up to 350 already! Congrats!
Haha, that?s my favorite Destro mold (loved the original 90?s version of it), have been baffled on how to make him forever and you are able to recreate it with parts bin pieces! Haha, you have a skill, my friend! Love it! The alien neck piece was a brilliant add, then I never saw that waist piece before. Those really capture the original figure?s look and make the design pop! That rifle for him is badass too! The write up for Voltar is fantastic! Loved this guy ever since the NES game and he was another figure that I used all the time growing up. You did a great job accessorizing him, love the skull belt! Really caps off the look along with the helmet & sword. Haha, love the childhood AVAC story! We would have gotten along as kids because of our mutual love of AVAC, the firebat & the terror drome! This is an awesome reimagining for him! So cool to combine the figure with his vehicle! Great head cast (& painting! Same for Voltar?s eye & Destro?s pockets!) and that build is just inspired! It?s totally new but screams updated & improved AVAC! Always want to make one of him, my Star Brigade Mortal was originally going to be an AVAC but I went with Mortal because of the cool head that I had in my bin so this is awesome because now i get to see how both look with exo parts! Lmao! The Sacrifice! How did the rest of us never think of that?! It was right there all along and I never saw anyone make a custom of the classic virgin sacrifice character! So funny and so awesome! The head, robe & sacrificial dagger all make for the perfect combo for this type of character, then your backstory really drives it home! And you finish it off with an epic Aero Viper! Another on my list because I have an extra of that helmet as well from my Black Major Worms. The helmet looks awesome on that body (the Zorro head is genius for his unmasked look) and the army man gray WW2 parts are fantastic adds! They pop so well off of the classic MTF parts. Great job as always, super cool figures, fun write ups & the childhood / inspiration stories are always a fun piece to the puzzle of all of your drops! Thanks for sharing these & have an amazing birthday week! PS: I had to circle back because I was CERTAIN that you made the nude figure your 350th! Haha, always keeping me guessing!

Always love reading your thorough reviews! Yes 350, can you believe it? Every time I hit a milestone I wonder what's next? But I have a lot planned right now so expect this thread to keep on giving lol!!!! Yeah the Destro homage was a fun take from the parts bins, his belt is from AWOK, I felt it really replicated the look of the originals in a fresh way. I have another 1 or 2 characters already planned to use that belt again! Glad you liked my Voltar, he's one I never thought I would make this thread, so it was fun to come up with a recipe I was happy with! We would have been friends for sure growing up! With A.V.A.C. I would even like to do the ROC "Swamp Viper" take on him sometime... (I even have a test shot of that one.) I think you still need to do an A.V.A.C. for yourself bud! Thanks for the kind words on "The Sacrifice", I was not sure how a nude character would go over with everyone, but so far her & the Aero-Viper were the most popular on social media, so I'm glad others enjoyed my vision there! She worked within my story line too, so it all seemed natural to have some extra fan service lol! In a lot of ways, she should have been the 350th, but I futzed with that Aero-Viper homage longer than the rest, & I thought he would be a crowd pleaser of an ARAH character you don't see many homages of. ;-) Big thanks again for everything you wrote here good buddy! I really do appreciate it! . Last edited by Steel Brigade; 09-25-2022 at 11:19 AM.. |

You made me check my count.....182! So I?m getting close to a milestone as well! I have a bunch more built.....just not a complete custom until I do a photoshoot & post it. I?ll need Vietnam to come out in order to get close to 350. Haha. You might be working on 500 when those parts are in hand.
Ooh, Swamp Viper will be an awesome add to your storyline! Really loved that repaint of AVAC, awesome that you tracked down his test shot as well! Was looking at a bunch of prototype stuff on the Kokomo Toys eBay page. I agree, I definitely need to add AVAC to my list of customs in some way. Probably an original 90?s style design! That would be a fun one. Haha, it was done tastefully so you totally made it work! Plus it fit with the other original characters that you?ve been introducing in the latest part of the story. Always entertaining to see where you take things and how the original characters & homages fit in!
