Black Fox: Age of the Ninja (2019) stars one of my favorite Japanese action movie girls, Chihiro Yamamoto, known for her roles in Tokusatsu series (like Ultraman Geed.) The movie's plot takes place in the Edo Period: Rikka Isurugi, who was raised to be the next head of the Kitsune (Fox) Clan - a ninja clan that does anything for the right price - meets a girl named Miya, who had been wandering around in the mountains looking for the Kitsune Clan to help her take vengeance for the murder of her father. I own the Japanese BD, but if you're interested enough, this movie is available to watch subtitled on Amazon Prime and other Asian cinema friendly streaming channels. =) I liked the movie enough that one night after a repeat viewing. & looking through Vitruvian Armory, I started piecing my Black Fox build together. Her costume is an interesting mix of modern meets classic kunoichi film style costumes, & really made for a fun & unique building experience with all Boss Fight parts, as I usually don't get to use some of their fantasy pieces. The all black face works well as the black veil she wears, & her katana, skirt, (& stand) are all from MGR...
Oh & I'm a big fan of the soft goods Boss Fight Zorro cape lol.

BLACK FOX comes from one of the longest running ninja clans in Japan, & was next in line to take over the clan being her reigning grandfather's only surviving offspring after her father had accidentally past. But BLACK FOX & her grandfather don't see eye to eye, as although she finds honor in her family's past (of ridding the world of some evils), she is seeking for new ways for the clan to still be successful in the modern world without just being death-bringers. Her father loved science & taught her many things, as well as how to protect herself without killing an opponent by using the dull side of her sword. Now with most of her clan lost or gone due to the rapid decline of Japan's unstable environment, BLACK FOX has gone rogue on her own mission to find answers. In an unusual twist of fate, she finds allies in YUREI KAGE & YAKU ...& joins them on their quest to save the troubled island.

So I wanted to make a black ninja type years ago in my MTF Universe's season 2, but held off for... reasons?... lol ... But after I made my Red Ninja/Blood Ninja, I knew even more that I had to make a token black ninja type, but wanted to make him a bit different, just not exactly the same thing as my red ninja (but in black), so after too long, & using about 1/2 different parts for this build, he's finally here, & I think (for me personally) he was worth the wait! XD

When the BLOOD NINJA CLAN lost their master SPIRE THE BLOOD LORD & the clan & cult members scattered, they had a plan to regroup one year later on 7/6 at the 18th hour (1867 backwards - the year ending the Edo period) to reform under a new guise & name for hire, calling themselves the BLACK BLOOD NINJAS. A symbolic changing of both name & color, showing that they have changed their clan's purpose, where now absolutely nothing is off the table ...for the right price. The BLACK BLOOD NINJA are currently employed as enforcers by the SHUTENDOJI CULT, and they are protecting the celebrants from anyone trying to stop the ritual to bring the Oni Leader SHUTENDOJI from the netherworld & through the demon veil to Shinjuku Japan!

Funny story (for me anyways lol), back in 2016 on my very first trip to Tokyo, I had gone to the Shibuya Mandarake (a toy/manga selling chain - although this particular one feels like a steampunk Castle Grayskull as you enter and go down the stairs), & while browsing the sofubi (vinyl figures), one I really liked was this retro Kamen Rider Shocker Female Combatman. Alas, it was early in the trip & I had no idea what Tokyo held for me, so I passed on the vinyl figure that day. Years later I was going through pictures from that trip, & my friend had snapped one of me looking at that figure, & although I had been back to Japan many times since, I never went to look for that Shocker Female again, but figured even if I'm not in Tokyo, she could still be mine, even if I ordered her somewhere online, as it is the 21st Century after all lol! I just had to figure out what she was called/what series she was from, & find her, (as I could not see her card backer info in the pic I had.) So after some research I found out she was from the Kamen Rider series, & quickly found a mom & pop sofubi shop online & ordered her immediately through my proxy. So that funny little masked ninja sofubi girl I saw in 2016 arrived in my hands finally in 2021. Doing a parts bin dive one day, I found some parts that reminded me of the Female Shocker, (mask, belt, etc.) & started putting one together, trying a couple different colors for her legs until I found one that had that "nylon" look. So it's funny (to me) how that sofubi ninja girl I passed on my first trip to Tokyo in 2016, came to my collection finally in 2021, & then turned into a recreated homage figure for my MTF Universe in 2022! XD

SHOCKER COMBATANTS (or simply SHOCKERS) are a special female sect of the BLACK BLOOD NINJA (formerly the BLOOD NINJA CLAN). Fiercely loyal & highly skilled in martial arts, they will often be used as disguised assassins, spies, or informants, fully able to carry out missions solo or in groups. Their signature move, the "Honey Trap" was used to bring down their high profile male enemies from within, by using their gender as an advantage to trick, lure, or seduce them for information that would lead to their undoing & eventual death.

Now the SHOCKERS are set on a new stage, working for the SHUTENDOJI CULT, where the Japanese male populous is at it's all time lowest point, & their new enemies are strong & skilled females that do not fall for their feminine wiles...
...this time, only the fight matters!

Spectacular Ninja Madness!!!! You can't go wrong with any in this 5 pack SB, every one is a winner in my book. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be Saki, she definitely has a solid Saya Otonashi vibe to her (love me some Blood+)

Got to love a huge batch of new ninjas. I'm not sure I have a favorite as all the varying pieces you have chosen for the specific characters from various lines is really amazing. You always seem to be able to pick the perfect parts for each custom to pay homage to whatever the source material is.

SB, My friend...I am finally able to do a lot of catching up on your thread. Here are my thoughts:

1. Wraith Grenade Trooper: Great colors and super work on the eyes. Love the light blue homage. I never had this figure but you made a very awesome version here.

2. Metal Express: Hollow Point was always a favorite of mine, probably since he was only available at the time in the lego-like sets. Great head choice and the colors really blend well. I like that you made him a trainer of new weapons as that kind of fits in with MTF with their new offerings now and then.

3. Kiku: The head looks great and you are right, it is pretty accurate. Sword!

4. Asuka: This one is very cool and quite accurate too. Love the imagination of using the BFS rat head.

5. Slit-Mouthed Woman: Another quite accurate design. That is for sure a way creepy story, but your parts choice really brings it home.

6. Dark Lord: Love this one. Your color homages are right on! I never had Darklon either, but I am really loving your version a lot.

7. Wraith Toxic Trooper: Great job on the face shield. I really like purple and the purple/green/red really pop.

8. Constable Daiyu: This figure looks great. I also love the story about her father and how she is following in his footsteps.

9. Pipeline: Great homage here. Bench Press was a favorite of mine, so much so I ended up getting 3 or 4 of him. He was never Rock N' Roll to me. Love the "Close Encounters" description in your story. Pretty badass.

10. Cadet Bombshell: The head choice is indeed amazing. Really like the drone story and her using it to find her brothers. You really do a great job of keeping things current while still having that connection to the old Joes.

11. Shutendoji Cult Leader: This one looks like a lot of fun. Now you need to make a mirror version to use the other parts? The demon story really fits. The headdress with the "many eyes" is genius.

12. Doctor Swan: This figure looks just like the comic version. Another great and imaginative story.

13. Jungle Cyber Gunner: I am a fan of this head and it looks great on this figure. Really like the chrome arms to bring out the BAT.

14. Hard Hat: I remember getting the Bridge Layer and thinking it was pretty boring too. But, not having many vehicles it soon became a go to choice out of necessity. After that I really started to like Toll Booth and he was in all of my adventures. Great choice of DNL vest too.

15. Action Girl: Love this one. Love the orange shirt, the head is great. This is one of my favorites.
